And who the frick are these guys? John C Stennis is the 9th highest John C. on Google Search, and Hartley Peavey doesn't show up in the top ten Hartley's on Google Search, and considering I've never even met a Hartley in my life, that's saying alot. I will say its badass that Stennis has an aircraft carrier named after him, which is kinda badass.

John Stennis was a US Rep for over 40 fricking years. The fact that he has an aircraft carrier named after him shows that he is a somebody. Hartley Peavey doesn't show up much b/c he is a very introverted person. His late wife was much more vocal than he was. I hate those backwoods assholes as much as anyone, but damn, to downplay those people is a bit of a stretch.
Sonny Montgomery was also a graduate of MSU IIRC.

I'm just fricking with them a bit. I knew who John Stennis is and he made the state proud. The point of the matter is I don't think 90% of America can tell you who John Stennis is. Thats my point. Mississippi State certainly has some fine graduates, I just think that most people from other SEC schools and especially nation wide would draw a blank if you were to ask them some of their famous alumni.

Ehhh, 30% of America is college educated, to where I'd expect at least half of them to have at least some idea that William Faulkner is an author. Plus we can add in the others who haven't graduated college who know who he is anyway.
