I agree that people that target others based on color are worthless. But let's not pretend that white people don't have a rich history of that.

So you're saying that being recognized as an Arab Muslim does not open the door to discrimination in the United States today?

Some people believe the "brown" people and their culture are going to overtake the U.S( much like a few European countries,) and anybody that doesn't agree are "allowing" it. My best answer.

No, I didn't say this.

Then please explain to me how my previous statement was wrong, when I simply replied that an Indian person, in being susceptible to misidentification as an Arab Muslim, is in turn susceptible to discrimination; thus, Indians do have to deal with discrimination in the United States today.

Also, yeah, shouldn't have said that. Sorry.

I don't know if it's the Muslim Arab ethnicity that causes discrimination. That's my thing. It's cultural ignorance that causes discrimination. If the Indian told the Christian bakery he followed the Hindu religion, he may just as likely end up being discriminated as well.

Well right, it's absolutely cultural ignorance, but I guess what I'm saying is that because of that cultural ignorance, the propensity to dump a bunch of different ethnicities into the "Allahu-Akbar sheethead" caricature opens the door for discrimination of people groups well beyond Arab Muslims.

Well yeah. I consider it natural though. People have to make quick snapshot determinations and inferences when they size up something or someone they've never seen before. Leads to stereotypes and false assumptions.

My buddy went with his (white) girlfriend for a job interview for her in middle-of-nowhere Missouri a few weeks ago. Everyone acted super uncomfortable the entire time but they made sure to point out where the mosque was in town. He's never not wearing his kara

He says Auburn's been generally normal about it, minus dumb frat boy comments every once in a while (we've got a relatively-large Indian community in town, which helps), but the recent Trump election plus this "white student union" mess plus the Richard Spencer stuff has gotten him a lot more on edge recently.

Why would someone "logically " think that an Indian person is a Muslim? That's some shitty cultural intelligence right there

Because there are north of 170 million people of the Islamic faith living in India.

Not my problem chief.

I don't particularly give a flaming rip about Adolph Hitler, Nazis, SS Soldiers, Nordic Mythology, or any of that.

But it doesn't rustle my jimmies. It's your jimmies that are rustled.

But what I think is interesting is how you don't seem to want to hop on a plane to India to defend Muslims (in this case) from what are pretty much card carrying fascists.

It's like you prefer to have your Nazis close to home, because that's convenient and all. Plus it's not like you'd ever have to actually, you know, sacrifice something or go out of your way to fight the good fight.

Seems to me you don't have the slightest idea what fascism was. What a Nazi was. It's just real bad stuff, and you saw some in Inglorious Bastards or something, you hear people use the word all the time, so you throw it around at people you disapprove of.

You don't even have ideals, you're just a hot mess.

So about 10% of the population of India? Would be the equivalent of saying Americans are atheist/agnostic because ~10% identify as such.

It is like no one has ever spent >5 min on world history class

Not to mention 200 million more Pakistanis in Pakistan.

And funny they are almost all Muslim (and Sunni at that), like someone is intolerant.

Maybe some of you guys need to go to Pakistan and teach them about social justice.

But nah, you are too busy fighting racism in Mississippi, or Nazis that use poop as an art medium in Missouri, from Colorado and San Francisco to do that.

Taking a break from the SJW wars for a moment, there is some crazy crap in and around India.

High tech in Bangalore, but go 1500 miles NW and you have a place that is pretty much like it was circa 1500 (though with a few tech toys here and there), fighting a low grade insurgency against the Indian government.

Then you have the Andaman Islands, at least one of which has stone age tribes, and a Don't Ask/Kill policy to any outsiders.

Saw a picture recently of a woman from that island (with the xenophobic stone agers). Apparently taken with a telephoto lens from a chopper.

Man she had Jugs they would have cried to photograph back when National Geographic was the thing.

Your argument has valid points but they are being overlooked because of your sloppy delivery. And it's sloppy maybe because it appears you're the one that's worked up by the conversation as indicated by statements like "up yours" among other statements within your argument.

For the record, I have been around many third country national Indians as well as Afghan Muslims that speak Pashtun or Dari, and I can see why at first glance an Indian can be mistaken for Arab Muslim. Upon second glance however, the Indians are overall cleaner, have better living conditions and don't squat on toilets to take a shite. They also have a greater work ethic and it's no wonder why so many companies are so quick to employ them.
