I would say that since BSU wasn't a BCS team, they wouldn't qualify as 'elite'.

Make a list of teams with more than two top ten finishes in the last 5 years and let's take a look at that.

Top 10 AP finishes last 5 years (my quick count):
Alabama - 5/5
Oregon - 4/5 (always the bridesmaid award)
Ohio State, Stanford, Boise State, South Carolina - 3/5
LSU, Wisconsin, Florida, FSU, Auburn, Oklahoma, TCU - 2/5
USC, Arkansas, Ok State, Mich St, Mizzou, Clemson, UCF, ND, UGA, Tx A&M, Texas, Iowa, Cincy, Penn St, Va Tech - 1/5

Bert has proven he can win big with lesser talent. He just took over a bad situation last year. At least 6 wins for Arky this year.

Auburn fans comparing the situation that Gus walked into at Auburn to the one that Bret walked into at Arkansas, then patting themselves on the back because they believe that one year proves their point. Kinda like when Nutt won at ole miss the first year and Petrino didn't here. This will be just as fun to watch
