I agree. I'm glad we have him so far but the #1 athlete in the nation here in Savannah should be kept in state.

His recruitment is far from over

He goes to school with my nephew. Only played in the last 3 games last year. Had 20 touches on offense and scored 12 times.

But outside of Columbus it pisses me off to no end when we lose kids from South GA. That should not happen.

Deep South GA is just so far away from Athens. And, in large chunks of it, it isn't an easy drive. 2 lane, then 75, then Atlanta, then Athens.

Tallahassee and Gainesville (and even Auburn) are just right there.

It's a tough sell.

One could argue our recruiting in the state of Georgia has an impact, if not necessarily in the head to head series of late.

Meh, I wouldn't go that far really.

Historically, all time, AU is by far the biggest thorn in our side preventing us from winning titles. People are just simply uninformed if they want to say it's UF...we were lousy as hell in the 90s and they were elite, they damn sure didn't prevent us from winning anything.

There are handfuls of times throughout history that UGA had an SEC title locked up until losing to AU at the end of the year.

Most recently you could say UGA resulted in UF not getting a chance at a title in 2012.

Been in GA for 3 years now and am blown away by how much high school talent there is in this state

Look at how much high school talent is in FL. Now look how many of them are committed to UF. That my friend is a demise.

When UF, FSU, au, bama, ut, sc, clemson, and gt are all within a short little drive from your talent it's simply not possible to get everyone. In addition, Atlanta and the burbs are becoming increasinly more transplant friendly, meaning these 18 year old high school kids aren't like me that grew up as a toddler cheering on the dawgs. UGA to a lot of these kids is just another school. It'd be like if I moved as a teenager to Washington...I wouldn't automatically be a UW fan simply becauuse they're in the same state.

very true. Although I don't see any way that uf team would've beaten bama, but I guess we'll never know.

Maybe an SEC title. I doubt we would've beaten y'all.
Nothing like 02 when losing to Zook kept Georgia out of the title game.

UF's rise beginning in the late 80s is the cause of their demise.

Says who? Have we learned nothing from 2004?

Going into that game Miami was a clear cut #1 while OSU was ranked 4th (we were 5th, btw). Obviously UM nor OSU would lose that season. Do you really think beating a 5-3 UF team that was ranked 22nd would move UGA (who hadn't done anything significant on a national level since probably the 80s) ahead of Ohio State?

Y'all were ahead of Ohio State in both the AP and BCS before losing.

There are 2 answers Florida and Spurrier because Steve continued to own UGA at SC too.
