I can definitely see the argument for it.

Bye week play a team we beat. But we would have to go through Ohio state.

I still think they’re better than Indiana

Ohio State has better talent, but Indiana plays better as a team

Because your bye you can take out anyone on your side of the bracket as everyone else would not only have to go through OSU, but you as well

Bama would have to go though Indiana and Texas tech

UGA would be the only team that wouldn’t have to go through 2 top 4 teams. Assuming no huge surprises I don’t see how the answer could be anyone but UGA

It’s almost cheating for ole Miss. I’m surprised the committee is letting them outsource their offensive staff

In the SEC I think you’re correct.

I think it’s undoubtedly true Oregon has the best road overall though

Georgia obviously. You get a bye and then a rematch against Ole Miss that will likely be an easy win.

Ole Miss has better wins and a better loss.

A&M had better SOS and SOR. We also were missing our best offensive player for our loss and much of the latter part of the season and Ole Miss lost their coach.

By the standards the Committee set A&M should have been ranked higher (both should have been above Oregon as well) but the real standard the committee set is whatever they felt like. The evidence for that was every time they were questioned about who was ranked where they rarely talked metrics but instead brought up how they liked this offense better than that one and how they watched x game and liked what they saw or some other nonsense. it was especially gross because it is clear the Committee didn't watch much football played by several teams and they had conflicts of interest everywhere.

I don't know but I'm surprised the committee didn't stack all the SEC teams on the right side of the bracket then make it winner of SEC tournament vs everyone else. Just to make sure it wasn't an SEC final.

Ole Miss has the best draw. A rematch game to advance into semifinals. Once in the final 4 there is no good draw.

No pretenders this year like when Penn St got to face a fake arse 3-seed in Boise St then ND got to face a fake arse Penn St to reach the finals.

Even though it is just JMU, they still have to play it and get a little more banged up.

Then they have 4 seed Tx Tech and 1 seed Indiana most likely.

I don't think that is appreciably easier than a bye, 6 seed Ole Miss (without their HC), and 2 seed Ohio State (who Indiana beat of course).
