Have a big fat DOWNVOTE!!!

In fact, I can't name a time when A&M had great leadership. Certainly not in my lifetime.

Do you even Robert Gates, bro? (2002-2006) He fired Wally Groff and R.C. Slocum and put a halt to Ray Bowen's ridiculous "Vision 2020" Ponzi Scheme.

Gates was the last A&M President who was truly and completely in charge of the main campus without outside meddling. Even Rick Perry didn't cross him when he was the Governor.

I wouldn't trade Mark Keenum for anyone. It's also nice to have a former coach and die hard fan as our AD. Cohen and Keenum have really been great for us lately. We have completely changed our image as a university and athletic department over the past 10 years.

Didn’t templeton get state into the ncaa baseball tournament and left LSU out even though state didn’t make it to Hoover?

Yes, Gates was the best President A&M has ever had, but the overall leadership? It has always been inexplicably terrible. I guess Aggies are just too busy to worry about it, and just throw money at the problem. Finally, we saw some claws come out after the UCLA de-pants-ing.

The Chancellor is supposed to bring money to the overall system, secure funding, and negotiate with the State Government.

The Regents are only supposed to convene to confirm and approve critical events and actions.

The President sets the tone and a strong university president can overcome bad subordinate leadership (such as the Commandant of Cadets, VP for Student Affairs, etc.)

I know they are not in the SEC but North Carolina for fighting the NCAA and winning.

I know who has the worst. It’s Vandy!!! It is run by a bunch of leftist who make every decision through the lenses of political correctness. Football has suffered for decades because of it. Basketball is about too. But hey, it’s baseball season.
