He is tearing things up at Ole Miss without having to deal with the looney tune crew running the athletic department at Auburn.
There is nothing attractive about the Auburn job, nothing he can do there that can’t be done where he is at. He is in year 3 of the Ole Miss rebuild and on the verge of reaping a bountiful harvest for his work. But you think he can’t wait to throw it all away to go start from scratch again at a school with rogue renegade boosters breathing down his neck to influence every decision made, not to mention the kings of college football as your major rival, and not being successful against them will get you fired.
You’re right. He gone.

would tennessee take Lane back after Heupel jumps to Oklahoma?

Probably. The Tennessee-Kiffin relationship is a weird one. He clearly hasn't gotten over it but neither have we. A few in the fanbase have always loved him. Most are like me though, hated him but have since become skeptical/more neutral, a few others straight up hate him but they'd come around if he were re-hired. On Kiffin's end there's no doubt in my mind that he'd be here in a heartbeat if we were willing to give him a 2nd chance. Doug Dickey left us for Florida (to be their head coach) and lost to that UF team in a bowl game intentionally on the way out and we still hired him years later as our AD.

That all said, no way Heupel leaves for OU.

Tennessee has its first year of relevancy and Tenner fans walking around like they haven’t sucked the last twenty two years.

Number of wins the last 20 years:

Tennessee: 143

Ole Miss: 131

Tennessee Ole Miss - sucking the last 20 years.

He's going to bide his time at OM and in two years when AGGY gets tired of Jimbo he'll get himself a sweet $100m guaranteed deal.

Let’s see, we have new leadership now.

Auburn is generally more attractive overall. More resources, fan support, and history. Auburn is also relatively close to ATL.

The brand new $100m football only facility ist almost completed and we have two $NIL collectives which can be utilized. We hired a new GM who worked for 18-years as the lead national talent scout for the Dallas Cowboys. He is currently installing new structures and systems here… things are progressing.

Lol at any AU fan think he would come there. Why would he have to start over, deal with that fat yella fella booster and share a state with Alabama. He’s gonna be at OM until he gets an NFL offer or Alabama.

While this may all be true in a general sense, we're talking about Kiffin specifically and everything I read/hear about AU makes me think their power brokers will not go for someone who doesn't give two f'cks about what they think or want. He'll want to be handed the keys and then left alone, ala Saban.

This might be true but it would also mean that AU would then turn him down instead of the other way around (in this scenario).

I can legitimately see this happening, especially if Bjork sticks around.
