Yep...though I didn't say never

And history backs me up. Not to mention both play in the toughest division in College Football.

I could have said that neither State nor Ole Miss would be ranked in the top 5 this year, and history would have backed me up.

Correct....which even makes it more unlikely again.

I'm not flaming, it's just very unlikely.

Enjoy it

It's only unlikely if you ignore the obvious truths that Mullen and Freeze are good coaches and are building sustainable programs.

It's been 40 years since OM has had an AD/HC combo that allowed us to succeed (Vaught years) and I'm not sure that State has ever had the right combo (not a jab...trying to state a fact).

Both programs are set up to succeed. Nothing looks flash in the pan about them.

BOTH
Mullen and Freeze both turn down jobs in the offseason and continue building their programs.

New era. Look at the top ten. You no longer have coach at a traditional power to obtain success. Just make the top 4 and see what happens.

Prepare to be disappointed then. Especially if you're talking about SEC Championships and NC Game participation.

Les Miles is lukewarm compared to the hunger Freeze and Mullen have right now. Recruiting is only going to get better and both teams are good due to hard work and a slow build, not because LSU sucks.. That helps, but it isn't the reason.

Neither. People don't understand the importance of an experienced QB in the SEC. One will graduate and the other will leave early.

I'm talking no losing seasons and being able to beat every team on your schedule.

Even LSU and Alabama aren't competing for NCs every year. When was the last time LSU was seriously in national title talk in October?

Neither team will be a gimme again.

Your fans didn't understand the significance of an experienced QB before Jennings started shitting the bed.

And I'm talking about something totally different.

So

That's what success is. No team will win the SEC consistently and no team will win the NC consistently (unless you're a dynasty like Bama...and ever they're having a down couple years.)

If success is what Miles has at LSU, then frick yeah Freeze and Mullen can maintain that level of success.

The amount of full 180s LSU fans have unleashed in 3 weeks has been hilarious to behold.

Both teams are built to compete longterm. Neither is a "flash in the pan".

Freeze inhereted a Nutt ran program= #3 in the country in year 3.

Mullen inherited Croom ran team = #1 in year 6.

Both of these teams share the smallest population in the SEC and compete rampantly in recruiting.

Les fell in behind Saban and competes with Tulane and Tech to keep players in State.

We're coming..

And you still have to compete with other schools, in there own states, for top kids.

2016 will show you how "lukewarm" LSU is in recruiting.

This is exactly what you should do. One of two things will happen going forward:

1. You fall back to the norm.
2. You maintain the success and start to have expectations that make it difficult to enjoy success if things aren't constantly perfect.

Either way, it will never be better than it is right now. That first year when you think you will be pretty good but are much better than you ever imagined is hard to beat. 2003 was an incredible year as a Tiger fan and will probably never be topped in my eyes.

Enjoy the hell out of this as long as it lasts.

State for sure, simply for the fact that their best players are seniors, while ours are sophomores. Really not much of a debate simply from a logistics standpoint.

lulz

Other than just saying it, you don't have much to back it up with besides a great season (so far) by both schools.

To say they'd have the same 10 year run that Miles has had is just wishful thinking, until it's actually done.

But I guess we'll all see
