No. Any offensive records from the Big 12 are null.

Not according to the NCAA it's not null. Though I have a soft spot for 06 defense. Though I think this 09 group Florida ha could be the best yet. They have better number as far as PA than 09 Bama.

So do '07 Bama and '08 Ole Miss get to be in the mix then since they both embarrassed one of those high-scoring Big 12 offenses?

the 2006 lsu team would kick all the teams in the past decade minus 08 florida and 2000 miami.

If we were playing in a bowl game.

The 06 lsu team was stupidly big, fast, talented.

sick, sick, SICK!!!!!

If miles wasn't such a bone head we would have scored more then 3 against auburn that year. Man that was a physical game. Probably one of the most i have ever seen.

but miles/jimbo wanted to run, run, run the ball, with the number 1 pick under center and 2/3 first round recievers.

that is the best lsu team ever.

06 LSU didn't do so well vs 06 Florida. That Jump pass was sweet.

yeah. we lost 2 games that year and shouldn't have. that was the most talented intense lsu team i have ever seen. I remember lee corso saying that was the best 2 loss team in the history of college football. He said he wouldn't want to play them if he was the indianapolis colts

Meyer played a true freshman Tebow a lot. That pass for a TD he threw to Murphy was beautiful. The LSU D as faked out pretty bad on that one. Of course no one even Florida fans expected him to pass there.

Minus 2004 AU. A MUCH MUCH less talented AU 2006 team beat LSU 2006. Sure LSU was better than AU in 2006 and should not have lost, but our 2006 team was not in the same league as our 2004 team. We were minus about 8-10 first and 2nd round NFL draft picks including 6 first round picks.

AU 2004 was the best team this decade in the SEC and probably only behind 2000 Miami nationally. Maybe USC in 2004 was equal, but the NFL sure didn't seem to think so.

The wishbone didn't even exist in 1961. Wasn't invented until 1968. Alabama didn't introduce it until 1971. Alabama ran a 1960's version of the pro-set back then.

That's when Alabama was producing some great pro qb's: Namath and Stabler being the most famous.

still think the 06 lsu team was one of the best. I think it would kick this lsu's teams arse. 04 auburn.

Yeah, they were a great one too. Sorry forgot about them.

I think I agree that 06 LSU has probably been the best team LSU has had this decade. Better than '03 LSU and '07 LSU and '06 UF. I think last year's UF may have been better though. If I was ranking the 5 best SEC teams this decade, I think they would be:

1. 2004 AU
2. 2008 UF
3. 2006 LSU
4&5. Tie between LSU 03 and UF 2006

No way, we scored more than that against UF last year. And we weren't a high powered offense at all.

Oh yeah, as to the original topic, I think the 2 best defenses since division play started both belong to Bama - 1992 and 2005.

Demeco Ryans is my fav Bama player of all time.

If we go back to the 80's, I think the best defense of the 80's in the SEC was AU in 1988.
