Saban went from Miami to Tuscaloosa so I'd say location really doesn't matter.

not the case anymore. lots pf doctors and lawyers did undergrad at state and have financially remained loyal. this may have been true 20 yrs ago, like most things om, but now-a-days it would seem that state has the most money boosters
ill give example. All of Jackson Cardoilogy is made up of doctors who graduated or are huge boosters for state and they have sky boxes and condos in stark vegas

I grew up in Mississippi, and my family hated ole miss. On the other hand we just laughed at state. I guess in my mind ole miss is more relevant in football. I know ole miss sucks now, but in my mind state is just a bunch of hicks and ole miss has potential with a great coach.

Bama fans in MS usually define the words hick and rube.

Ole Miss has a good history before integration.

It's cool if someone thinks Ole Miss is a better job right now. I am just sitting here waiting for the first good reason that's not based on a false assumption.

I think they are pretty even to be honest as far as money and facilities go.

Da grove & women!!!
Obviously the top two factors in a decision. The jobs are a wash, IMO. Historically we can only hire coaches with baggage or young up and comers.

No, it has been 10 years since I spent more than an hour in Mississippi. State may have more potential now, it's just the way we viewed it when I was a kid. Frat boys and attractive girls went to ole miss, farm boys went to state.
I'm pretty out of touch on what has gone on with the two schools since I moved many years ago.

I don't mind when people hate on Starkville. It keeps all the guidos and assholes away.

And you went to a correctional facility.

I think it's Ole Miss by a large margin. Both are going to be tough to win at for a long time, however, w/ Petrino, Miles, and Saban seemingly staying put for a while and Auburn being Auburn.
I just believe Ole Miss is a much nicer place than Starkville.
