Well you'll probably be in Memphis to where we're not insanely jealous you're playing in our backyard. Hell its only slightly over an hour there to where we can meet up at the Pony after the loss.

Went to Nashville last year during the music city bowl. Fun as frick. Wouldn't mind moving out there eventually.

yeah, i went out there for the first time this summer. beautiful city. i found the downtown area and the area near Vandy kinda had a West Coast vibe. It's very different from the other major southern cities.

The NCAA recognizes one of our championships can't link on phone but it's there.

Mississippi State is a joke in the rest of the country. I live in Rhode Island and people here have heard of Ole Miss/Oxford however nobody has any idea what Starkville is (nor do they care).

Actually the NCAA "recognizes" three of our titles, but even that doesn't mean anything. The only varsity sport the NCAA doesn't issue a championship in is FBS football.

And BTW - I hate these "who sucks less" debates!

Again, you miss the point.
Nobody gives a frick that you're going to the Music City Bowl, went to the Final Four that one time in 1996, and have more recently been to the CWS. Despite all of that, Ole Miss is still a more nationally recognized institution, for both good reasons and bad. That name recognition is part of the argument as to why Ole Miss is a better job.

You also mustn't watch much basketball.
Ever heard of Providence? URI?

Again, you miss the point.
All I know is that our athletic department is Greg Byrne years/Scott Stricklan years way ahead of the shambles that reside in Oxford. You don't have an AD and you don't really know what your Chancellor even wants to happen with athletics. At least our Admin and AD seem to be on the same page.

Everyone just knows the name Ole Miss & that it's a school. Like wtf is Ole Miss? It just sticks in your head. It has nothing to do with your athletic programs. The name just stands out more than State. There are many of those.

Yeah, no shite, which is why Boone's replacement is being hired soon. Remember how much y'all hated Templeton and how relieved y'all were once he was replaced? Same shite different place.

Dan Jones says he wants Ole Miss to expand facilities to better compete. He backed this up by launching a capital campaign to meet this end. He also fired Pete Boone and Houston Nutt. I think Dan Jones has been very clear as to what he wants to happen.

That's where you're wrong. State fans love to say this to justify their arguments that "omg teh Grove ain't much better than the JuNcTiOn y'all" and so forth, but it's simply not true.
I haven't lived in Mississippi for several years now. Yes, I have met plenty of people who don't know dick about either Ole Miss or State, but I have also met plenty of people who have said things like "You went to Ole Miss? I've always wanted to go to the Grove!" or "man, y'all have lots of hot girls there, right?" or "I hear Oxford is a great place."
I also get the "OMG YOU ARE A RACIST BECAUSE YO UWENT TO OLE MISS!!11" on occasion as well. The point is that Ole Miss does have a national reputation, both good and bad. State does not. Period.
Just this year there were features about Oxford written in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Parade Magazine, the Guardian (that's a newspaper in fricking ENGLAND, bro), and a handful of other publications. I'm not talking about a national sports column writing about a football team (we have been on the SI cover as of late, which you all mock due to our "fall from grace," but you know what they say about bad publicity...), I'm talking about journalists, travel writers, food critics, and so forth.
I'm sure you love State and Starkville, and I don't blame you for doing so. I just think it's silly for any of you to pretend that people outside of the South don't recognize Ole Miss. They do, and they do so moreso than they do State.

I know you can't do this, because you're dense (and fat), but you need to realize that national perceptions have a whole shitload to do with things which AREN'T RELATED TO ATHLETICS.

They've been to the tournament in recent memory...
Actually, just looked it up on Wikipedia. They've been to the tournament several times (1964, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1977, 1978, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1994, 1997, 2001, 2004) and have made the Final Four twice (1973, 1987) so, yeah, they're a decent program.

Probably well documented in RI school books about how the Plantation kept all those pesky coloreds out of their school for so long and how the National Guard had to come and enroll one.
