History, believe it or not changes, just ask Rome or the British Empire.
That tortilla history diploma is rearing its ugly head. You might want to go brush up on the roman/brittish empire connection. Rome invaded, and pretty much put the infrastructure (roads etc) in place that become the brittish empire.
The Romans left a lasting impact, including the founding of cities like London (Londinium), and the establishment of infrastructure like roads and the famous Hadrian's Wall. Many place names with "chester," "caster," or "cester" are derived from the Latin word castrum (fort).

This. It's been almost 30 years since the Agroids have even won a conference championship. Despite more money, middle of Texas recruiting base, bigger school/alumni support, etc. Historically y'all just always figure out a way to f things up.

TAMU. More money, slightly better demographics than OK from exponentially more people and tiny bit higher % black. Yes that matters. Look at the last 20-25 Nati’s, and figure out what % black the teams city is within a 100 mile radius. Will be significantly higher than the US average besides maybe Ohio St and Michigan.

As a longtime Sooner fan I have seen a lot of highs and the lows.
Have a hard to time believing the program will be allowed to sink into long term mediocrity though having seen what happened to Texas from 2010 to 2022 I know it can.
Anyway, this SEC experiment is what was needed to force the issue.

I always thought A&M was a sleeping giant, for many of the reasons already stated. But eventually I realized why they never have and never will be perennial contenders: once recruits are on campus for awhile and get to see A&M's disturbing rituals and 'traditions', it weirds them out.
Think about it. They've always had a massive endowment and close vicinity to great H.S. talent. There simply is no winning culture at Texas A&M. Just an obsession with the Longhorns, gay milkmen, jizz jars, and sacred pet cemeteries.

History tells you Oklahoma
History means very little. That's a Nebraska argument. People forget just how dominant Nebraska was in the '90s and they stayed strong in the '00s. The B1G move killed them. Suddenly they weren't special in the B1G and had multiple big schools with more resources, power, and recruiting territory than they did. Couple bad coaching hires and they fell into the abyss and now have little chance of ever getting back up to being more than a "make the Playoff every decade" type team.
OU has similar resources but a better recruiting territory because they are close to Dallas. That said if A&M and Texas are both good then OU is in a rough spot. They can't match resources with those schools. Both have far more money, far bigger stadiums, and far better recruiting territories than OU can hope to have. Then you add in the rest of the SEC with LSU, Tennessee, Bama, and Georgia all having similar advantages and a big group of teams that are at worst a draw for them in terms of resources.
The problem is if OU isn't winning they have little appeal, the State of Oklahoma produces very little talent so it has to draw from elsewhere. They are vulnerable long term. Maybe they can keep it up but the odds are not in their favor. They were a perfect school to be one of a couple dominant teams among a bunch of under resourced schools. The SEC is a completely different animal.
Of course for A&M they have to show they can do it but everything is there. If they do get to the mountain top watch out though, there is a reason they have been called a sleeping giant. They already sell out 100k plus expensive tickets without breaking a sweat and have a 550k alumni base that is disproportionately wealthy. It has always been about finding the right guy to know how to drive the race car. I encourage you to come to College Station when the Sooners play there, you won't recognize it from 2010.

Remind me how far Lincoln is from Dallas? Also don’t think Nebraska has the top defense in the country and top 10 classes.

A$M and it’s not close.
Way, way more money for NIL.
Way better recruiting region.
Much later alumni base.
A$M is ascending.
oU is descending like a rock. Next stop, nebraska.
