The mark of a great leader is the ability to fire someone as necessary for the good of the team. It is a lot harder than it looks. You can let loyalty to the individual get in the way of the organization. Impressed that CNS pulled the trigger when he did.

I don't believe Saban was loyal to Kiffin or Kiffin was loyal to Saban

They were in a mutually beneficial arrangement. Until they weren't.

Nah, it matters not to me. I just see your posts all over and many seem to be directed to Alabama.

Hiring Kiffin helped us win 3 SEC titles, a national title and shift the program offensively to a place where we are comfortable competing and winning shootout type games.
Don't think anyone knows enough about the current situation to tell you the answer to part 2. Nor do we have the results to be able to analyze whether it worked or not.

Hiring him was genius. Letting him go was probably the right move. So this isn't really a question

I've been discussing Bama today considering recent events

Replacing Kiffin before a National Title game he helped us get to (along with the other wins and titles he helped win) doesn't somehow negate all the positives his hiring accomplished over 3 years. Especially considering we aren't even sure it will cost anything in the end this coming Monday.
It didn't end great, but he directly contributed to 3 years that any program would die to have. He helped us get to a title game this year. So, the question really appears to be "was it worth it to end like this?", and my answer is absolutely yes.

Telling LSU to frick off was better for him than either.
Get over it dude. I would hate for this to upset you to the point that you might hurt yourself.

If you lose to Clemson I'd say objectively it was a bad decision
Or if you lose to Clemson maybe you should've kept Lane for one more game

I'm sure that was a glorious feeling for Saban

So hiring him would be a bad decision even though we won 3 SEC Titles and 1 national title, losing in the Final Four and the Title Game in the other years? Well, I'd disagree. I think I'd consider that a successful three seasons as a fan of the program.
As for part 2, maybe so, but as I've said before, outside of a total disaster offensive performance of epic proportions, the offense could not look more lost and out of sync on Monday than it did against Washington. I like Lane a lot, but we were clearly not prepared and he was not at the top of his game on Saturday. Anyone with a brain who watched could tell that. Was this the right decision? No clue.

Again, I think plenty of OCs could have had similar success. Saban clearly felt the need to bring in someone else as a consultant.

No, you've been very active in a good many Alabama threads that have nothing to do with Kiffin. You seem a little obsessed.

Which ones?
I really don't know
If so, it also makes sense considering you're the only SEC team left with games and this is the SECr

If you mean Sark then I think we all know the reason for that. He was the replacement for when the Kiffin project ended.

Well, I disagree. We added a new dimension that we previously did not have, and it directly allowed us to win some games when our defense wasn't able to get stops, games that we would have been extremely uncomfortable with the tempo of previously.
You asked a question, I gave you an answer. I know the question was geared at painting the more idiotic bammers on this board in a logical box they can't escape, but I don't think there is any contradiction in believing the hire worked well and that we had to move on this week.

I get that you LSU guys are infatuated with the Alabama football program but honestly the way you guys troll your daddy comes of as shallow and pedantic.
