You started being a georgia fan around the time everyone was yelling '3 PEAT!!!!'.

We failed at the three peat, but we did back to back better than Saban ever did, and that really pisses your fan base off on here.

Why are you posting responses to yourself over and over again?

Or maybe he was talking about the lopsided head to head results.

Probably this.

At 1-5, Kirby sort of missed his chance to prove he could consistently best Saban.

At this stage, proving that it was really just a Saban thing and that UGA can not only take the top spot from Bama, but keep it, is the primary challenge.
Can he do it now that the king has retired? Will be interesting to see.

UTk was 9-4 last year. Right?

Correct. 9-4 is very good for recent standards for that program. I'm curious to see if the 9-4 is a fluke as well.

Yes we were.

3rd and 4th (UGA's placing in the final polls) is closer to 1st than 5th is.

Because of... math.

Your chance to be #1 ended when you lost to Alabama in the SECCG and failed to make the playoffs.

Because that's how the national champion and #1 team is actually determined.

Of course what you are leaving out is the part where your team wasn't disciplined enough on a simple punt return, you got a personal foul and Auburn scored on it's 2nd drive of those 4.

Since this part of the discussion is about the UGA D vs the AU O, it would be stupid to include a ST play, right?

Anyways, This is hilarious for you to point out the exact ST play I have been talking about over and over as you continuously dismissed it.

Thanks for finally acknowledging the importance of that ST play. You wasted a lot of our time to reach this simple conclusion.

Let me explain how the "stop" works. You need 4 consecutive plays without a drive extending penalty, not just 3.

Interesting to see you suddenly acknowledge there is this mysterious 4th play where the D leaves the field after they did their job to force a punt. Interesting.

What I see is that your defense adjusted to the run,

Where exactly are you seeing this besides your imagination? What exact adjustments were made?

Lets review the 9 plays directly before the game changing ST penalty, just to see how things were going:

1 yard run
-1 yard run
Incomplete pass

-2 yard pass
3 yard run
-9 yard sack

5 yard run
-4 yard run
Incomplete pass

5 carries for 4 yards
4 pass plays for -11 yards (hardly "opened up"as you put it)

Total: 9 plays for -7 yards

Turns out all of that 3 FG drive success didn't suddenly open up the AU passing game as you incorrectly asserted. This proves another idea of yours to be wrong.

I tend to disagree.

In Saban's one instance of winning back to back titles, Bama had losses in both seasons and didn't win his division in one of them.

Smart won divisions in both of his back to back years and went undefeated in one of them. Saban has never gone 15-0 like Kirby has.

Kirby also went 16-0 in the SEC regular season in his back to back years. Saban went 14-2. So objectively, I'd say Kirby "backed to back better than Bama".

And your chance ended when you lost in the playoff.

You still ended the season further away from first place than UGA did.

Again... because 3 and 4 are closer to 1 than 5 is.

Math is still math. The highest ranked SEC team at the end of the year was UGA, not Alabama. Neither UGA nor Bama won the title. But UGA was objectively closer in the final poll. The numbers aren't that hard to understand.

In 2012 Notre Dame wasn't the second best team just because they got invited to the 2-team playoff that existed then and lost. Oregon and OSU were ranked ahead of them. Notre Dame was fourth, not second.

Last year Bama was fifth.

AP and Coaches polls are not valid or official rankings of college football. The college football rankings and the results of the playoffs are.

But if you want to claim that stupid shite, be my guest.

Saban had less wins, Saban had more losses, so you are wrong, even if you are an alter bot of some kind.
