Let's say UF beats UGA. UGA beats KY. UF loses to Mizzou or Cocks. What is the tie breaker in this scenario if all 3 teams win the rest of their games?

Asking for a Finn

I believe UGA will win out in the east.

I believe they will as well. But my basic question is is there a precedence for determining who wins the tie breaker if the scenario took place? I know the Big 12 had this problem a few years ago and maybe someone else. My guess would be that the highest AP ranked of the teams would be the one to move on. Or does it come down to point differential or something like that?

We’ll just have the top 2 West teams play for it.

Georgia lost to LSU and UK to Aggies
Both UF loses would be in the East so think they get eliminated.

Georgia wins head to head over UK..so the go to Atlanta.

I think...sounds right.

I don't know. I remember the pre expansion rules for tie breakers to the Sugar Bowl was, record, head to head, and in the case of a three way tie, Bama goes to the Sugar Bowl I think it was really highest ranked team.

I’d rather UGA just not go to the SEC title game in your scenario. Give it to Kentucky

I think it’s division record, head to head, conference opponent record, rank.

Isn't the tie-breaker the highest ranked team. I would think at that point, even with a loss to Mizzou/South Carolina that the polls would have Florida ranked higher by virtue of the win over UGA. In that instance I would say Florida.

I don't think there is any way Kentucky gets in the SECCG unless they win out.

I think that's the last one. There are 6 other ways of breaking the tie beforw that

After all the tie breakers I think it’s the team that has waited the longest. Hell, I don’t know.

Georgia I believe. One of their losses would be to a West Team.

SEC Divisional Tie Breaker

2. Three-Team Tie (or more): If three teams (or more) are tied for a division title, the following procedure will be used in the following order: (Note: If one of the procedures results in one team being eliminated and two remaining, the two-team tiebreaker procedure as stated in No. 1 above will be used):

quote:

A. Combined head to head record among the tied teams;

B. Record of the tied teams within the division;

C. Head to head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place);

D. Overall Conference record against non divisional teams;

E. Combined record against all common non divisional teams;

F. Record against the common non divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non divisional) and proceeding through other common non divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division; and

G. Best cumulative Conference winning percentage of non-divisional opponents (Note: If two teams' non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, then the two-team tiebreaker procedures apply. If four teams are tied, and three teams' non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, the three-team tiebreaker procedures will be used beginning with 2.A.);

H. Coin flip of the tied teams with the team with the odd result being the representative (Example: If there are two teams with tails and one team with heads, the team with heads is the representative).
