Alabama should be renamed the Georgia Bulldogs for as much of their team is from Georgia.
You're not reading the chart correctly.

quote:You read it correctly, UGA is saturated with GA players. I doubt that trend will continue with Kirby down the road, but it certainly exists right now.
Uga has 93 kids from GA? I cant be reading this right

Including walkons. Alabama has 43 players listed from the state of Alabama. But half of those are walkons.
92 total players listed from the top ten states among the four playoff teams. So some walkons are listed and others are not. Roster size is somewhere near 125.

You realize two of the teams in the playoff are in the SEC and the other is from South Carolina. That's going to skew the recruiting to the southeast.

Alabama recruits more nationally than Oklahoma.
To be fair, he didn't compare OU to Alabama or anyone else. OU just recruits its state the least of all the other teams. I think that's more what he meant to say.

The data would be more interesting if it only included scholarship players
Not sure what it is now, but I believe the SEC restrictions for game rosters to travel and/or dress was 95 for home team and 70 for visitors.
I'd just be interested to see how that adjustment would affect the %s.
