I graduated from UAB. I pull for UAB but I've never attended any sporting event. Unless UAB builds a stadium on campus, I'll never attend a football game.
If UAB ever played Auburn...Sorry, but I'd pull for Auburn and that doesn't make me miserable.

So, someone who grows up with an emotional connection to a school, for whatever reason, is then forced, by your primitive code of idiotic beliefs, to immediately switch to the new school for the sake of an engineering class? You don't think people should be allowed to think for themselves?
And then, the only way to legitimately pull for the school that they have rooted for, is to go to that school?
So...someone who grows up an Alabama fan, has generations of family who've gone there, and decides he want to be a Vet. He goes to vet school at Auburn, because Alabama doesn't have the Vet school, and then he has to be an Auburn fan, with no emotional connection to the school? And you go so far as to say someone is miserable who doesn't?

That's not the point. Why is it any skin off of anyone's back for people to choose who they root for or why? And who are y'all to decide the proper allegiance? It's like saying people who go to church are automatically more religious than people who don't.
It makes y'all seem insecure to put a one size fits all formula on the entire population of college fans, but in case you were wondering, Bleacher report already covered it.

I root for all. I coach and root for my pee wee team that I once played on. I root for both HS teams I played for and I root for both Colleges I attended.
