JFF shattered both Tebows and Cams records for a single season.

Tebow's biggest stat was that he accounted for an SEC record 55 TD's. 32 passing and 23 rushing. JFF didn't match the total number, Tim's passing TD's or his rushing TD's.

I would rate Tebow above Cam
Of course you would. Forget that Cam Newton was the vastly superior passer and runner, while he's also the one that lead a much less talented Auburn team to the national championship.

He beat him out at Florida
Did you expect otherwise? He was there a year before, got playing time as a true freshman, and Urban Meyer had a man crush on him.

and didn't bolt after 1 good season
I wonder why... He was a sophomore when he won his Heisman. He couldn't bolt.

He didn't leave after his junior year either.

Really? Tebow has the better passing stats in college.

Last year AJ McCarron 67.2% completions, 30 TD's, 3 INT's, 2933 yds. 175.28 QB Rating led the nation. Led team to National Title.

That's a top SEC QB, not some Johnny come lately.

No it isn't. Part of being a great leader is helping your team win a title. You can be a selfish player and put up great stats at the expense of team goals.

It's fallacy. It assumes that A&M failed to win a championship because of JFF's mistakes and that absent his mistakes, A&M would have won a championship. It also assumes that, but for Tebow's or Cam's lack of mistakes, those other teams would not have won a championship.

Kinda hard to explain, but does that make sense?

QB Rating says otherwise.

An important stat.

Cam accounted for 34 TDs vs. conference foes.
Tim accounted for 33 TDs vs. conference foes.
JFF accounted for 21 TDs vs. conference foes.

Quite a disparity when you aren't beating up on SMU, La Tech, Sam Houston State, & South Carolina State.

Well every NFL GM thinks Cam was and is a better passer than Tim.

You put AJ on any other team and he is alright, the Tide are the best in the SEC but yall don't have the best QB.

Joeyb147 beat me to the punch.

Let's go ahead and also mention that Tim Tebow is probably the worst passing quarterback to ever see the NFL. I'd rather have Ronnie Brown passing out of the Wildcat.

This. Give Manziel any of the defenses Tebow had, and you're looking at 95 Nebraska. Until Manziel runs the table, Cam still deserves the top spot.

Cam is #1
Manziel is #2

Points deducted for that ridiculous PAT stunt. That kind of behavior has no place in the prestigious SEC.

It doesn't have to assume all that. Great players will their win games. We're the losses JFF's fault? Not entirely, no one player is ever at fault.

Could he have done more to win the game? Absolutely there are always missed opportunities, etc. Tebow I can see an argument for JFF ahead. Cam did enough to run the table and win the title with his team, and won the heisman in that year. He is #1

not sure about 4 & 5, but 1-3 seem about right to me. JFF has the ability to surpass all of them, but he hasn't won anything yet. So the jury is still out. I am sure that if you place JFF on the Florida championship teams they still win, and are probably more impressive too.

I think it's true that having the Tide around him makes AJ's job a lot easier. That's why it is logically flawed to assume that because AJ won multiple championships that he is a better QB than any of the others. AJ may be better, but the championships do not prove it.

Another way to look at is...

if you replace jff with the other four qb's from the list and put them on last years aggie squad, who has the better record?

i think only cam could.

I would take Cam Newton over JFF or Tebow without hesitation. JFF vs Tebow would be a close call. I would probably take Tebow though
