This is AU posters fault and im a big contributor. We allowed an inferior group from an ingerior school who cheer for an inferior team to get to us. Had we ignored them like the buzzing gnat by our ear that they are, it would not have escalated.
We are a Big 4 school that dictates conference policy(that is why we are still playing in the West).
Treat them like UK as they are and will always be and we can return to getting shite from UGA and Bama...our only rivals.

Yeah I think back to those days in the 50's and 60's when we only won a game or two in a whole decade. I'll have more nightmares about it tonight.

Merlin wants to get the program to a better place. That is why he is getting rid of the old stereotypes of State and saying a nat'l championship is not far off (yea, right)
He's doing it so the players will reach for that but land around a 9 win season, if the cards are played correctly. It will feel like a nat'l ship for state.
Forming this "hatred" like rivalry is a good move on state's part, being that Auburn is obviously below arky, LSU, and bama (starting last year, of course)
When (if) we beat AU, it will be huge for the program.

Tbh I've only seen it on the SECr. I think it's just a phenomenon unique to this site. All of my fellow AU fans that I talk to just treat the State game like any other game in the season.

Folks, you forget the History. Shug pushed the SEC to ban artificial noise makers. That is all MSU has and AU tried to take that away.

Their dislike of Auburn probably comes from the fact that they have played us pretty tough 3 out of the last 4 years and even outplayed us last year but still found a way to choke the game away.

The rivalry has little to do with football. It has more to do with the fact that when MSU men go to away games at Auburm, we impregnate their women, wives and gf's with strong, high quality semen, then when they come to home games in Starkvegas they get all pissy because we have the barn locked.
