UGA will be tough next year as even though they lose Murray they should be much healthier then this year, but how quickly will UF and UT rebound? They have been struggling to regain their feet in recent seasons....
This is key. I don't expect to thrash UT or UF, but I'm fairly confident with thosr two at home. All 3 are also midway or later through the season, so Jordan's replacements will be somewhat broken in by then.

Well, right now, we own our state, so it's time for our next step. And before you pull history, yes, UT has dominated historically. Presently, we own it.

I'd say "rent" is a more applicable word.

Unfortunately, the window doesn't really depend on vandy, it depends on the other 3.
Well, yeah, if you assume this is the best Vandy is ever going to be. Too bad for the East that's just not true. Even if Franklin leaves, expectations have been raised. We won't just quietly return to the cellar.

Congratulations, it took our worst couple years in our entire 100+ year football history for you to be competetive with us.
Define owning the state, because recruiting disagrees with you

Uhh what? That's not even remotely close to true.

Because high school kids are always right? Congrats, you did take the state's best recruit right out of our backyard. UT does have brand name firepower way beyond Vanderbilt. We've beat you with 60+ recruiting class talent. We've rather quickly halved that gap. Recruiting loads the arsenal, but you still have to use it effectively. Now that we both have competent coaches, maybe this can be a real rivalry.

This has been a small window of the traditional big 3 powers of the east (UT, UF, UGA) being down. Do not make the mistake of thinking that this is a new beginning for Vandy. UGA will be back next year without all those injuries, UT is on the incline, and UF will always be competetive with their elite athletes. Vandy will be lucky to win 5 games next year.

I admire the vandy spirit, and honestly I hope Vandy wins 10 games a year as long as one isn't UGA. Same with kentucky..there's no reason NOT to root for yall after the history you've had.
However, I think yall are getting way too big a head after the last few years. Nobody is denying that Vandy has elevated their play and Franklin is a great coach, but look at the state of the other 3 programs that you've beaten. Florida is in one of their worst stretches in probably 50 years, and just completed their worst season since 1979. UT is in a historic downswing, and hasn't been this consistently bad since people were wearing leather helmets. That's great that yall are getting some wins, but make no mistake when things normalize for those other 2 schools this little run is going to end.
Even as bad as UT and average as UGA were this year, you needed last minute heroics to beat UT (a bad UT) and referee and injury assistance to beat UGA. You keep saying "well vandy is starting to get some good recruits now, we're about to make some noise"...what do you think is gonna happen when UF and UT start getting their normal recruits again?

Vandy's improvement has certainly been magnified because of the downturns and bad luck of other schools. We very well could lose to all 3 next year. However, dismissing this as a blip would be silly. I don't anticipate Vanderbilt jumping straight into SECCG fights. That is still well off. However, I do think we will move into a steadier pattern of competition.
As for recruiting, yes, UGA, UT, UF, and whoever else may not be at top recruiting will refill talent, but Vandy has closed the talent gap. If it continues, and I think it will, that gap closing will allow us to be much more competitive more consistently.

You see this is where people really aren't paying attention to Vandy. Vandy has now qualified for 3 bowl games in a row while recruiting top 20 recruiting classes. You see they're winning and are improving their talent. I don't think they've maxed out. Now I don't believe they will continue to be a 9-10 win team regularly but I do believe they can have a great season every few years. All that is continent on Franklin staying. If/when he goes they will drop back down. Otherwise, overlook them at your own risk.

I would say the team that has won the actual game in the state. I've yet to see a game won purely on recruiting alone.

Last 5 classes ranked by Rivals.
UF
2014: 15
2013: 4
2012: 3
2011: 12
2010: 2
UT
2014: 2
2013: 21
2012: 17
2011: 13
2010: 9
VU
2014: 18
2013: 19
2012: 29
2011: 71
2010: 61
Really? Vanderbilt is only winning because we've been recruiting leaps and bounds over everybody?
The better question to ask is: what happens when Vanderbilt continues to pull in solid classes over time?

Yes, won it 3 times in 30 years. Ownage? Naw.
Go argue with one of your rivals. Oh wait...

No but I don't think the same success will be had. That guy is a heck of a coach/recruiter/motivational speaker/marketing guru.
That's the kind of things it takes to have a consistently successful football program at Vanderbilt because of the academic requirements.
