Jimmy Frank can coach and develop players. He's a good coach and should get a lot of credit for what he's done over the past 2 years. Could he do it again? Absolutely. That's the best part of CFB, anything can happen. They've got a good one in shoops too. I cant stand Franklin, but for the first time in my life I actually look forward to playing VU. We caught a bad bounce when we thought we had VU & UGA beat to have the play over turned in the last minute of each game but it is what it is. That being said I look forward to the rematch next year with the new talent coming in. I'm out of the Military in 2 months and will with out a doubt be in Nashville for next years game.

I think it's not happening soon. UT is starting a trend back upward. If they don't beat the Vols next year it's gonna be awhile.

Looks legit. Vandy in Atlanta!

Surprised Ole Miss is playing here again next year...

Well since it's one of the signs of the apocalypse alongside the Crystal Ball going away forever, I'm not sure any of us will be around for next year let alone the decades it will take for that to happen again. Enjoy the drinks now, my friends. For Vandy hath accidentally opened the doorway to hell...
May God have mercy on us all.
May God have mercy on us all.

UT will be much better in the next couple of years. Dooley left the cupboard bare and it's filling up again.
^^This is truer than a lot of people realize whether they're SEC fans or UT fans.
Our 2014 class is simply monstrous both in ratings and the large number we're taking via back counting (it's one of those once in a lifetime kinda classes). And the commits we have for 2015 are just as outrageous though fewer.
If we get both our 2014 and 2015 classes signed, sealed, and delivered we're going to back sooner than a lot of us thought.

Tennessee will be pretty bad next year. Wouldn't be surprised if Vandy wins #3 in a row.

Does anybody know when the last time prior to 2013 that Vandy beat UF, uga, and ut?
Posted on 12/6/13 at 9:10 am to mhgc57
They've never beaten UGA and UF in the same season prior to this season, so all 3 would be never as well. Assuming Franklin stays, I'd say the chances are compartively high over the next few years. Vandy's recruiting classes have gone from the 70s & 60s range to Top 25, with more depth being added each year. Franklin's first full class will be Juniors or Sophmores who were redshirted this year, so most of the talent he has worked with the past few years is from those terrible classes. While top 25 doesn't mean they'll be competing for titles year in and year out, at least it puts them in the same ball park as the others instead of working with C-USA caliber talent.
I think the most notable impact you'll see going forward is in the trenches, where vandy has been historically pushed around (seriously, try to name the last frightening DL player out of Vandy). You'll also just see more depth added so we can still play in the 4th quarter instead of being gassed.

That's a great sign for the future, but rarely do true freshman take the SEC by storm, especially with "lots" of them on the field.
As for beating those 3, next year is a good chance IF someone steps up at WR. That's really the only concern offensively. Defensively, the entire secondary is gone, but we have developed guys like Head and Williamson this year.

What do you consider "good"? Vandy will have less than a 50/50 chance of beating UGA next year, and certainly less than that for all 3 in the same year again.

Sooner than you think. The better question is when are yall going to beat Alabama again? Alabama has turned the corner on you and now has a huge psychological advantage.

Equal to this year's chance. I'm not going to predict it happening, but it easily could.

It will be interesting to see where Franklin takes Vandy from here. Vandy has a bowl game's opportunity to have back-to-back 9-win seasons: how many would have thought of that happening 3 seasons ago? He's bring far better talent and depth into the program, so get ready for seeing a entirely alien Vanderbilt football program for at least the next 3-4 seasons....
UGA will be tough next year as even though they lose Murray they should be much healthier then this year, but how quickly will UF and UT rebound? They have been struggling to regain their feet in recent seasons....

We just went 11-2 last year. How is that struggling to regain our feet. Now, this year was a complete cluster eff due to poor offensive play and injuries out that Wazzou.
With the right offense we'll get it going again soon. Very soon. There are too many athletes here to stay down long.

Your average star rating is .89. UF's is .90. The only way UT's class is monstrous is due to size.

No reason Vandy can't keep improving. I'm biased, but imagine a 4* receiver being recruited by UGA and Vandy right now. Vandy has some advantages. Who doesn't want to play for Franklin? Who doesn't want a Vandy degree? Doesn't Vandy succeed in getting guys ready for the NFL?
All UGA (or Florida or USC) has on Vandy is the crowd and visibility. Those are big. But they're not everything. Vandy's building, and it might hurt you guys for awhile. Frankly, this season was mildly disappointing.
