When was the last time LSU was given so little chance of winning?

Was it during the 'down years' of 08/09? Even in 09 all the losses were competitive. I don't remember being written off in 08, despite it turning out to be a 5 loss season. Do we have to go back to the 1990's? I honestly don't remember the last time the club was written off like this. I know it's the combination of LSU not looking like a 'top 5 team' (much like 2010 not looking like a top 10 team yet finishing so) coupled with UA performing well in all areas. I just find it curious.

Besides last year. This happens every year.

Not sure but anytime you have a defense like ours you can stay in any game. One or 2 turnovers can make the difference. If Brad Wing does what he was doing last year he can flip the field all game also.

Not overlooked. LSU is a true crucible.

I think most people belive lsu can win the game..but obviously anyone that's watched both teams this year believes it's a tall order

The Bama coaching staff and players don't think the way you do.

Probably in 2010. Anyone who thinks that it's a done deal this year is silly. I think Alabama has a better chance, but I certainly am not going to underestimate LSU.
That said, if both teams play well, I think Alabama is a bit more complete this year and have a better chance of winning than losing. Last year, I thought Alabama would lose.

A very tall order. It's just surprising the dismissal from much of the media. The LSU visiting team is pretty poor no doubt. But they are at home and the home team has performed pretty well.

One thing that has been proven this season is that home field advantage is alive and well in the SEC. Look at SC blowing out UGA in Columbia and then Florida owning SC in Gainesville and beating LSU in the Swamp as well. Meanwhile UGA upsets #2 Florida on a neutral field.
Having said this, I think home field advantage probably accounts for 7 points worth of advantage but I don't think that will be enough to overcome LSU's lack of continuity on offense. Bottom line: This will be a strength vs weakness type game similar to the Florida/Georgia game. I think Bama's defense has a lot better chance of beating LSU's offense than LSU's defense has of completely checking Bama's offense.

LSU needs to work on the offense all week and then some....

A BIT more complete? I'm not gonna sit here and say LSU can't win the game, but up to this point in the season there's really no comparing the two teams.

They've had all year. If it's not pass protection issues, it's cement handitis. If not that then Zach overthrowing open receivers. It's more a matter of actually 'doing it', that's the question to me.

Who is saying this? Anything can happen. I thought only Alabama got to play the "being disrespected" card.

LSU fans write their team off every game.

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Is No. 1 Alabama a better team on the road than it is at home?
"Well,l Coach (Nick) Saban seems to think so," Crimson Tide senior center Barrett Jones said.
Indeed, Saban said Wednesday that he has talked to his players about this as they get ready for a 7:30 p.m. CDT game Saturday against No. 11 (BCS) Mississippi State at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Away from home, Alabama has crushed Michigan, Arkansas, Missouri and Tennessee.
At home, the Tide sometimes has looked average in victories over Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic and Ole Miss.
"We’ve played our best games thus far on the road," Jones said. "I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
"There’s a few more distractions at home than on the road. It’s kind of an us vs. them mentality. I’ll tell you for the older guys, it’s a little more of a challenge, adversity kind of thing.
"I've said this before, the cheers don't really do much for me any more, but I love the boos. But I don’t know. I don’t know how that all factors in. Certainly, it seems, so far we haven’t really played a complete home game so far. We’re hoping to do that this game."
