I get they're instate schools, but the series record is 84-17-7. that game means hardly anything in the national landscape most of the time

Texas/OU is basically Fla/Ga. For fans it is either a game about 2 historically good programs or a chance to hang out at the State Fair and go to a game at the crapfest that is the Cotton Bowl. The real bloodlust is the instate rivalry games.

Outside of OSU-Mich I don't see a rivalry outside the SEC with nearly as much 365 day hatred
And OSU-Mich doesn't even compare to the iron bowl...I have a lot of Ohio state family

Although our rivalries are the best, there are other rivalries that are important for the CFB landscape.

Duke/UNC in basketball is bigger than any other college rivalry IMO. It's Duke/UNC, Mich/OSU, Iron Bowl in that order, imo.
