Lol…not surprised a dog desperately searching for a way for OM to be unable to sustain success….also, it is hilarious to read in this thread about “developing high school talent”. That’s over. Y’all go ahead and sign those top high school classes. Lane will steal them in the portal after they’re all good and “developed”.

He has been to 2 access bowls and by every betting service is a favorite to make the playoffs this year. What does this mean? Top 11 is extremely feasible at Ole Miss.

So back to what does he want. Win some random games and upset a few teams? Ole Miss can do that for him. If he wants more he has to look elsewhere.

Are you familiar with our roster this year? We have the 2nd or 3rd most talented roster in the conference. Georgia isn’t coming open anytime soon. What other options are there?

He has been better at OM that Huepel has been at Tenn. What does that say about the Tennessee program?

Not sure that's the program any SEC coach that wants to win championships should aspire to be like.

The only jobs that are upgrades for Lane at this point are

Bama
UGA
Texas
Ohio St
Michigan

Those arent really possible for him right now. He has built something and has everything he wants and admin/boosters leave him alone. He is getting 10+ mil a year. He isn’t leaving to rebuild a 2nd tier program when he can make a 12 team playoff 1/3 of the time at OM. Some of yall need to realize we are in a new world and Ole Miss isn’t next to Vandy, State, SC and Arkansas anymore.

You'll be back there next year.

You better make 2024 count.

Why is it so hard for yall to admit that the gig that Kiffin has at Ole Miss is pretty damn good and would be a dice roll to get at another place? I think if Kiffin goes, it's to the NFL. I really don't see him leaving for any other college gig unless the school offering tries to make him the highest paid coach in football.

It is a pretty damn good gig. He's getting paid well and has done well by Ole Miss standards/expectations, but to suggest that there are only five other jobs in the country that are better is ludicrous. Maybe he's happy where he is and never leaves, but it wouldn't be because he wouldn't have inherent recruiting and other advantages somewhere else.

Who said it was the 6th best job? I said those jobs are top tier elite. He would leave for those but not any others.

You have no way of knowing that.

So there are better jobs but he wouldn't take them because reasons? Like he wouldn't run the show if Oregon hired him for example?

UF
Auburn
A&M
Miami

They have all come courting and he has turned them down. There is 100% evidence of this.

Nah I’m good. We both know there were talks before Billy got the job. I don’t have time to go find evidence because there are none in coaches searches. Same with Auburn and Miami. Talks for two weeks then they hire their #1 candidate they wanted the whole time. It’s amazing no school ever hired their 2nd choice ever.

Why don't you link it? Tuberville was going to have to be carried out in a pine box. They're all 100% committed to your program until they aren't. That goes for any coach.
