We are 5-2, with loses to the #7 and #9 teams in the country. We find ways to win, even though it might not be pretty. Our defense is improving even though our offense has been sputtering the last couple weeks, but that was due to Trotter's inability to pass. What gives? Real answers here, folks. I think great coaching is working wonders with this young team.
there's not just one answer to your question.
there probably is a lot of residual resentment left from last year from the cam stuff..no matter what the ncaa said, the perception is that something underhanded went on, many would never admit that auburn could be even decent this year without cam.
auburn does not pass the eye test. they have beat some teams, but not in a very confidence inspiring way.
beating florida is in no way a barometer as to how good your team is.
the meat of auburn's scedule is yet to come.
the perception that the sec is down this year.
the total focus on the supposed invicibility of lsu and alabama as opposed to the other sec teams.
i have to admit to having a grudging respect for auburn this year. they, as always, seem to find a way to win. and your team does seem to be improving each week.
this was a non-flaming, honest answer to your question. probably too long for most secranters to read.

You really think Auburn will be in the hunt for a national title next year?

Bama has some big players that will be gone next year, but they return a great deal too. Also, watch Bama this week (or any week for that matter) and notice how many different players see action on Offense or Defense. Bama plays 20 players on D on a weekly basis. They also play close to that on O on a weekly basis.
Bama this year is staring at a 12+ win season. I'm not saying they'll be on that level next year, but they will not be a 4+ loss team either.

Nope, I still stand by 7-5 or 8-4. We lose to both LSU and Bama, with UGA a toss up. Ole Miss and Samford should be easy wins...

Yet we are 5-2
Penn St. is 6-1
Illinois was 6-0
Michigan was 6-0....
You will finish 7-5 if you can beat ole miss.

They have way easier schedules. That isn't even debatable. Auburn would beat each if those teams.

as much as you try and tell yourself you don't lose much next year...just take a gander at what lsu loses next year. As good as they are this year, they will be even better on defense, and better on offense behind mett and all the rb's and wr's back...along with 3 starting OL.

dude, you barely beat utah state and miss state.......south carolina laid their annual egg or two (last year kentucky following beating bama), and florida can't beat anyone with that offense without brantley.
You have no offense, and no defense. How you can sit there and say you are better than any decent team is beyond me.

8-4 is worst case scenario for us.
10-2 IMO w/ The Leroy Bomber @ QB.

It's not who you lost too. Its who you beat and how you beat them. Tbh.

I didn't say we don't lose much. I say we lose several big name players, but it isn't as if we aren't giving a TON of kids significant playing time and building quality depth.

Not much, of course, that assumes they all keep themselves out of trouble witht the law/Les' doghouse.

I can agree with that. Which, I mean, that is okay. I'm just glad we won. That's what it is all about...

you will be 20+ underdogs in 2 games, and at least a 7 point underdog at georgia. Definitely not worst case.

UGay is imploding. We've got that game in the bag.

this i can't argue. Sometimes I wish we had a coach that was not a stand up guy and would look the other way....haha. It cost us dearly in 2008 and 2009 kicking off RP. We cannot beat bama without spencer ware and the two db's.

yeah, they have won 5 in a row.

They have a coach as crazy as Boom at UF, and they nearly lost to Vandy. UGay is imploding.
