Ole Piss will rapidly return to bottom feeder status after Lane leaves.
Not as rapidly as Florida and LSU have.

Kiffin will be fine. Look what happened with Orgeron. Ole Miss ruined him, then we rehabilitated him and made him the coach of the best college team ever.

Ed had a lot of extremely fortunate events happen that year. Sometimes all the chips just fall into place.

You guys canned him shortly after winning the natty. Good luck with Lane. Don’t want yall bitching about him after his first season with 5 losses.

I don’t know why they can’t wait until the season is over before players/coaches move.

That’s what gets you in these scenarios.

Ight, then I’ll accept that both are fricked up. But how about we blame the ones with actual agency here. Do Kiffin or Sumrall absolutely HAVE to leave their jobs this season? Is it the last year of their deals? There won’t be ANY high profile jobs opening up ever again? Come on.

The actual problem here isn’t OM, LSU, UF, Kiffin, or Sumrall. The actual problem is the system that forces coaches and schools into this shitty scenario.

That’s the real answer.

And I’ve heard OM fans pillory Kiffin for how they think he’s handled this poorly. But I’ve not seen anyone explain the best way to handle this for a coach given the current environment of early signing period and playoffs, etc. etc.

Isn't Landmass the OM poster who makes thread after thread throwing shade on the scandal of the day?

Laughing at everyone else's misfortune?

Or is that someone else.

You’re not wrong, but the system didn’t sneak up on either coach. You’re right that’s it’s the problem with college football. No one, player or coach, is held accountable for deals they signed and they can seemingly opt out whenever they like and the only people left in the dirt are the folks paying for their freedom to do so.

The wrong thing to do is have your agent publicly leak that your family is scoping out homes for leverage during a playoff run.
