They will never again consistently match UGA and UF in the East nor will they match USC so long as Spurrier is there.

Laughable considering Kiffin was able to outdo Spurrier and Richt coming off a 5-7 season.

Tennessee is in its lowest point in program history, to say never shows just how new you are to this game.

I hope Dooley stay at UT until he's as old as Paterno.

If Dooley does not win 9 games next year he will be gone.

He will wish he kept the La Tech AD job.

Two more years. so.. after the 2013.

Peyton Manning will be the new coach. Manning can recruit nationally. Tennessee MUST recruit regionally. Dooley said, when he got the job, he must recruit ATL, Louisville and Cincinnati.
I have heard on TD that he more recently admitted he has to recruit nationally too. I heard Peyton say, when he was in the booth during the LSU game a couple weeks ago, that Dooley has not yet quite started recruiting nationally. That was Peyton saying, AND HE DAMN WELL BETTER AND RIGHT AWAY.

New to this game? No -- I remember very well when the only teams on TV were the traditional powers: Notre Dame, Southern Cal, Alabama, Tennessee, Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas. It was this period when Tennessee became a destination for recruits from all over the country.

It's indisputable that Tennessee needs to recruit nationally -- and that UF and UGA don't (although UF typically does anyway). The lifeblood of any program is recruiting. Teams with solid in-state talent will do better than teams without. If not for establishing their program and tradition early, Tennessee would be in the same boat as Kentucky.

Look at it this way. Both UF and UT are at their lowest points in over 20 years. Both have depleted rosters. Both have young coaches still feeling their way and making rookie mistakes. Which team has easier road to recapture its past glories? In my view, that's easily Florida -- because they can and will reload their roster. Do you disagree?

volfan30, I used to think you were a true Vol fan, but with some of your latest posts, I wonder. Why dont you stop posting this stupid shite and give the guy a chance. The guy inherited a freaking dumpster fire and no talent, it is too early to judge him as a coach. Maybe you should you should submit your resume to the AD and see how that works, cause obviously you are an experienced fb coach.

Maybe because he has yet to show any coaching promise. UGA and USCjr were both very winnable games, yet his teams are unprepared, underachieving, full of coaching errors.

the only thing that upset me last night was our lack of execution on plays we should have made. for example: da'rick drops an easy TD, we line up to kick a 37 yard FG and jump offsides, the onside kick was clever and easily recoverable, but palardy gave us zero chance, our o-line got zero push and nearly every play. and i could go on and on.
if anything, we need to make some staff changes.

I think it's more to do with Chaney than Dooley that our offense is so awful. There's a reason Kiffin wouldn't let him call many plays

New o-line coach and I'm definitely not sold that Chaney is the answer.

Dooley actually seems like he's doing a good job of recruiting and he's not doing as bad as most think with getting players ready for the games.

However, as soon as something goes wrong, he looks hopelessly lost.

If I had to guess right now, I'll say two seasons after Bray is gone.

He needs players, period. I think he gets a couple of years to prove it.

Actually, I think he may be a good coach. We'll see.

UT is irrelevant in the world of CFB right now and will be the laughing stock of the SEC if you dont give him at least 4-5 years to clean up the mess that Phat Phil and Lame Kitten left behind..Not to mention the culture of no discipline that your AD helped foster.
