Jesus Christ the sun Belt is abysmal this year beyond Middle Tenn State.

I don't want an assistant. Who was the last Assistant coach to get hired for an SEC job???

Seriously I can't remember the last SEC school to hire a basketball coach with zero head coaching experience.

Stans may have been the last one back in '98

Our athletic department has more money right now than it ever has, with an AD that wants us to win. We will up the ante to get a good coach if we have to.

Just look at Mullen for example... his salary is close to the salary of a good number of the other SEC coaches. We are paying him a lot more than any other coach we have in the past.

He already turned down NC State. Fourth best program in the ACC >>>>> Middle of the road program in the SEC. I don't see why he would be interested in the job.

He was at USA. But Ms State will not pay enough to get an established guy. They'll go to someone from the Belt, like I said or an assistant from a power team.

We can pay between $1.5-$1.8 mil. We will hire a good coach.

We can pay a head coach top half of the SEC money- where we will lag behind is in money for quality assistants.

Coonass, why do so many people assume we can't pay good money for our coaches?

Mullen top 20 nationally
Cohen 3rd in the SEC
Stands $1.3 mil+

Shite, $1.5 -1.8 million in Starkvegas is like 3 mil in Boston or NYC. Ought to be able to attract some interest. Not many midmajors paying in that bracket.

Has Brady's ship sailed at MSU? Wasn't he a Richard Williamson assistant.

Yes, and I highly doubt we hire a retreaded coach or a coach over 55

I know Brady from his time in Bham at Samford. He obviously knows how to recruit Miss and has prior SEC experience, did he leave Starkville in good standing? He may be considered a less attractive candidate than keeping Stans.

Would make a great top assistant on a staff but he needs HC experience.

I wish Grant had kept him on board. He'll do great whenever he gets a chance.
