These teams and fanbases are so fragile that they’d rather have an extra win against a cupcake than a possible loss to a legitimate team?

I don’t think it’s the players and fanbases. I think those two groups almost unanimously want to play better, bigger games.

I think it’s HC’s that rely on “winning” seasons and bowl bonuses and Athletic departments that rely on the bowl payouts to fund all of the other sports that didn’t want it.

Unfortunately, guess who gets to make the decisions?

4 Home 4 Away Everyone has the same number of away and home conference games. In a 9 game setup, teams with 5 away conference games are at a disadvantage that season (both competition-wise and financially).

So you’d rather have 8 SEC home games over 2 years than 9?

Combination of smaller schools wanting an extra rent a win, and Saban saying he wants 9 or more conference games, unless his permanent opponents are the hardest, in which case he says “screw you guys, I’m going home.”

P5 OOC opponent.

Georgia did this in the title game and murdered their OOC P5.

Just because you're P5 don't mean shite. But a P5 OOC is already standard.

I think every SEC school should get a P5 rival for late November. 2 P5 OOC games each year. One in September and one in November. I’d like to see this in addition to a 9 game conference schedule.

This. I'd like to see Kentucky renew our rivalry with Indiana. Open the season with the Hoosiers and close the season with Louisville.

We’ve already got home and home with Michigan and Ohio State slated over the next four years. 8 SEC games + those will equate to the toughest SOS in that span.

One of the reasons I’m stoked about the expanded playoffs. Legit primetime OOC matchups are back.

Texas hasn’t been relevant since Vince Young and has struggled in the Big 12. Somehow, Texas clowns think they are coming into a premier league and are gonna magically be great. Texas about to find out what FAFO is all about.
