The bigger question is who would you rather have, Billy or Ed?

Again, Ed. I know y'all had a sour ending but the guy did more than Napier's ~ 5 years and Kelly's 20+

ND's academic requirements might actually be a good thing. It keeps the kids around actually doing their school work instead of getting into trouble back home

It’s great for OL and run blocking tight ends, not so much for skill players. The state of Louisiana has those for days. Iowa puts a ton of guys in the NFL too. They’re just mostly from a couple position groups which is why they go 7-5 or 8-4 almost every year. Never good, never bad

Some people agree, some disagree.

Everyone has an opinion. We will see.

I really don’t want to ruin your man crush on Ed, but he’s an imbecile. A funny character but an imbecile

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this site.

And you're probably serious too.

Yeah I didn't even think about it from a position perspective. OL are generally very intelligent so ND might have been a draw because of their academics.

I only know one person who is a ND grad and she is much smarter than I am. Sample size of 1 tho

Iowa - 33

Would you claim Iowa is one of the most talented programs in the country?

Or is looking at this from a macro level misleading?

Sure! As a fan you have a duty to be unrealistically optimistic

I think NFL linemen have football talent.

I think all the talent at the skill positions means jack shite if you lose the fight up front.

I also think a good OL can make a QB or RB look better than he is more than a talented RB or QB making the line look better than they are. Same is true on the defensive side of the ball if holes are plugged and the QB is pressured putting less stress on the DBs and LBs. No talented CB is making his DL look good.

And if you don't think Iowa is talented, give me a measurable where we can quantify what the most talented teams are. I thought schools of players on active NFL rosters is as good as anything else.

It has nothing to do with me being a fan or optimism.

Your stance that employment should be based on past accomplishments as opposed to current performance and potential is incredibly unintelligent and shortsighted.

I think it's funny how certain of this you are, considering how, much to your chagrin, he won the West in year 1, despite Ed Orgeron absolutely running the program into the ground the two years prior.

It's strange how people stubbornly hold on to this notion that Brian Kelly sucks.

It is quantifiably true. Kelly hasn't won shite.

He seems uniquely good at blowing it when it matters

As an LSU fan, it's your job to operate on hope.

Everyone else's job is to operate on reality. Like the Texas A&M game, which had the Brian Kelly smell all over it.

Weird deflection from your statement that Brian Kelly had "never won shite."

I'm trying to imagine beating my chest about McElwain or Mullen "winning the East" and I'm sorry i just can't ever see it.

The "reality" is he won the west in year 1 at LSU. I'm sure you predicted that, right?
