Would you rather Orgeron or Kelly be UFs head coach?

Honest to God could flip a coin here.

Orgegon won something though so he gets the nod

a combination of both.

It is. He overachieved in recruiting, considering Notre Dame's higher academic standards for incoming athletes, which put him at a disadvantage. And he did an even better job of developing those players that he brought to the school. Looking forward to seeing how many LSU players he sends to the league. Exciting time for LSU!

In most cases, they were quite a bit more talented than his teams.

He had a losing record vs. teams (in the top 10 of NFL talent) which ND had more NFL talent.

I know you don't like it but

One of them has won something. One of them won a Mac championship game against Ohio like twenty years ago.

I appreciate your optimism, but I'm a stickler for what people actually accomplish.

You must hate all of Florida's hires then.

Well, he’s a yankee. He already has one

And we all appreciate how fondly you think of Ed Orgeron.

The only candidate I was excited about was Meyer, because he was young and had proven success as a HC.

Next was champ, but just because he was a great DC

Next is Napier, because again young and has success where success is rare

Mullen was a max 10 win guy in my eye

McElwain seemed like an idiot from the start

Kelly is what he's been for decades. Very Mullen esque in my opinion. Hell get you good records and lose A&M type games every year

We don't know. The recruiting services miss as often if not more than the NFL does.

Not to mention you're still dealing with 17-22 year old kids that are officially "amateurs" yet have a lot of pressure on them to succeed for the sake of their families. IIRC, Julio Jones was a witness in a murder trail his senior year of high school. Some blue-chip recruit not working out for a program might not be a reflection on the coach at all but more indicative of the kid's home environment.

In that regard, ND's academic requirements might actually be a good thing. It keeps the kids around actually doing their school work instead of getting into trouble back home.

This is every head coach.

You seem to have unrealistic expectations.

Define success. Like Brian Kelly level success or Justin Fuente success?

So basically maybe 2 active coaches exceed this

At this point, anybody who'd willingly choose Ed Orgeron to preside over their program over Brian Kelly is simply being stubborn and ridiculous.

The bigger question is who would you rather have, Billy or Ed?

Like LSU, we've won national titles in the past fifteen years.

That's the expectation. To win a national title.

That may not be Billy Napier. It definitely isn't Brian Kelly
