I agree, so obviously we aren't actually trying to put "the best teams" in.

So SMU is more deserving because they're top 2 in their conference.

So you think the ACC and SEC are equal.

Even though the ACC was won by Clemson. Who lost to both Georgia and South Carolina, the only 2 SEC teams they played. Alabama beat both of them.

Tonight was also Clemson's first ranked win of the year. SMU still does not have one.

Stop worrying about having to play Alabama again. The odds are low.

Have some self respect and stop trying to pimp a team that hasn't beaten a single good team all year and has a SoS in the 80s.

You're back to talking about the best teams and their resumes, that doesn't matter apparently.

We're giving an auto appearance to a G5.

SMU and Alabama aren't up for AQ spots. You either do it based on merit and put in Alabama, or you do it based on emotion because "they tried real hard and I hate Alabama" and put in SMU.

I don't give a shite about that really. Change it to 11 teams and be done with it.

Just don't tell me SMU is the better team.

Merit is subjective, different people value different things

They absolute DO NOT have the right order ranking Alabama over Ole Miss.

Again, PER THE COMMITTEE, when comparing two teams the criteria are:

1 - SOS
2- head to head
3- “outcomes vs common opponents”

The actual SOS score difference between Bama and Ole Miss is negligible

They didn’t play head to head.

Common Opponents overwhelmingly favors Ole Miss 3-1. The Rebs soundly beat UGA and USC compared to one score wins for Bama. Bama beat down LSu who OM lost to in OT washes with OM soundly beating OM who put a 3 TD whipping on Alabama.

But if it was truly based on merit,
You would be arguing for Ole Miss to be in over Alabama and you’re not.

Kentucky beats Oklahoma by two scores this year if they would have played

That hypothetical doesn’t matter because we actual have a significant sample size of common opponents to judge Bama and Ole Miss on.

Ole Miss’s 18 point win vs UGa (7 for Bama) and 24 point win at UsC (2 for Bama at home) where they controlled the majority of the game are better than Bama’s

The LSU (Bama blowout, OM OT loss) and Oklahoma (OM convincing win, Bama Blowout loss) games are a wash.

This overwhelmingly favors Ole Miss.

If Ole Miss was over us, I wouldn't complain, but have equal arguments, imo.

Yes. You lost to Kentucky which is the worst loss in the SEC this season.

You conveniently leave out the loss to an otherwise winless SEC team.

Bama and Ole Miss is a coin toss to me.

Bama has wins over 1 playoff team, 1 loss to a playoff team. 2 more wins over top 20 teams.

Ole Miss has a win over 1 playoff team, 1 win over top 15 team. Ole Miss has a more convincing win over Georgia.

Bama played a tougher schedule and finished with the same record. Ole Miss has the best win and worst loss.

I’d be fine with a coin toss to decide there.
