middle of the pack was a poor choice of words on my part. i meant not a consistent top 10 team. not a championship contender.

Yes catching the ball is important and Julio did drop a few but most of them were also forced while he was double teamed. You may not have taken Julio but I guarantee you that every coach in the country wanted him.
I didn't see him drop any against AU.

We were a consistent top 10 team in most of the 90s with a shot at the NCG in 94 and 99. Had we not lost to UF in 94 and UT in 99, we would have played for the NC. Yes we had some bad years this decade but we were consistent in the 90s until Stallings retired.
LSU wasn't consistent at all in the 90s. A better time frame to start in your scenario would have been 2000.

Played for the NC in 99? I doubt that. We lost to louisiana tech in the 3rd or 4th game. In '94 I think we may have possibly been left out. Wasn't Penn St ranked ahead of us before the SECCG? And they finished undefeated

We lost early to La Tech (which was terrible) but if I recall correctly, we were 3rd in the AP before we lost to UT. Had we finished with 1 loss, I think there would have been a good chance we play for the title after we dismantled a Spurrier led Gators team for the 2nd time in 1 year.

I think they were undefeated but the possibility would have been there. Had we beaten a good Gators team, who knows what would have happened. I was just responding to Rohan's comments that we weren't consistent after 92. We still had great teams and finished in the top 10 more times than not.
