Arkansas, for all their frilly lil qb's and such, is not Bama. Arkansas can have success against mediocre defenses, but against teams like LSU and Alabama, they look pretty pedestrian. That's because football games are won at the line of scrimmage, by blocking and tackling.
The story of the second game was this....
1. Our QB play was pathetic
2. We made zero adjustments
3. What Bama did offensively workd good enough to get them into makeable field goal range.
4. They made their field goals.
Think of like this.....bama missed, what, (4) or (5) field goals in game 1, counting the block? In game two, Bama's offense was SLIGHTLY better than it was in game 1, as evidenced by the fact that they were kicking 25 yard field goals instead of 50 yarders.
Conversely, our offense was just as abysmal. What we did in game (1) didn't work to well - it worked even less in game (2).
In game two, Saban realized he would have to throw the ball a little, and did so successfully. Miles didn't do much of anything different. While I only slightly fault him for not doing something "more different", as much as I love the guy, I will never get past the lack of adjustments DURING game 2.
It's one thing to not move the ball because you fail to execute, etc. WE DID NOT COME CLOSE TO MOVING THE BALL IN GAME 2.
And no adjustments were made. I'll never understand it.
As to your question, no - we lose that game every time, with that game plan, and without adjusting. Every time.
Edit: Here's the short version. Miles outcoached Saban in game 1. Saban outcoached Miles in game 2.
Ok, that seems like a good summary. Alright TigerTrey, you've convinced me that Bama deserved the Title and not you. Goodluck to you this year.

We would have lost, and we would have the first time if not for some poor coaching decisions on the part of Saban. Bama was slightly better on both sides of the football, which our advantage on special teams couldn't overcome.

Bama wouldn't have had 45 days or whatever to prepare
but it was my feeling that IF there was a rematch, whoever won the first time would lose the second

More tired than a 21-0 loss? Hard to get more tired than that.

Yes. Bama was the better team both times they played.

Right after? I don't know man, we would have been pretty tired from just having played Georgia. How would this have worked? Would we have been celebrating winning the SEC title and then all the sudden Jim Ross screams "MY GOD, THAT'S ALABAMA'S MUSIC" and the Tide runs out to challenge us on the spot? That would have been rough.

I just don't know. My philosophy is, if you go to someone's house and win a fight while the whole neighborhood is cheering your opponent on in support, you are the champion. Then, someone comes and wakes you up in the middle of the night and says, "hey, get up, that kid you beat up at his house a couple months ago, he wants to rematch you behind the bowling ally." Wipe sleep from eyes, roll out of bed, push away the liquor bottles and head to the bowling ally staggering.

You start so many threads, and they are all soooooo bad.

Correct..LSU proved every they needed to prove in going 13-0. The entire end was such a joke "they" finally decided to institute a college football playoff...after over 130 years of not having one. That pretty much sums up the farce on 1-9

So you don't think there is any chance whatsoever that something was lost after waiting an entire month? I know Alabama had to wait a month too
Then what the hell is your point??

but, perhaps their coaches did a better job of keeping them focused through the holidays than did LSU's.
Then you've answered your own question...

Are you braindead or something? How did I answer my own question. My question is, would LSU have won if they had played immediately after they won the SECcG. I agreed that Bama's coaches did a better job in the month long layoff, but by no means did I answer my original question. F#%@, I need to head back to the frig, GEEEEEZZZ

I hate the bama football program. Not the people mind you.
Truthfully bowl game rematches never work out for the team that wins 1st.
The losing team has something to prove, plus Bama had the tornado tragedy, and the media/ Tinker tragedy really gave them extra motivation. It was a disaster waiting to happen.

If you notice LSu's offense regressed the more JJ got involved even of the game was playd a week later I believe Bama would have won because of the afore mentioned ideas.
The team who wins 1st has an extreme disadvantage!! proof
Florida vs. Florida ST. NC (rematch new result)
Texas vs. WAshington major applewhite's last game holiday bowl (rematch new result)
LSU vs. Notre Dame independence bowl (rematch new result)
Washington vs. Nebraska (rematch new result)
