was the fact that we not only went for it, but we actually had a play already in place and didn't hesitate, and executed. If that had been LESS Miles, there would have been grass chewing, a delay of game, false start, and a sweep play finally called. And tackled for a loss. You could tell we had an intelligent, prepared adult on the sideline and in charge

We did call a TO to set it all up.

Well designed play and difficult to defend.

I'm pretty sure Alabama called that TO.

Not only that but we had the play and came out in one formation then bama called a TO. Then we ran the same play but used a different formation to disguise it. That’s coaching!!!

...and watching bama struggle to count to 11.

Twice.

It would've been a pitch dive and you know it.

Correct. CNS and staff were shocked that CBK was going for two. And even with the timeout they still had to run a player off the field at the last second. Had we snapped it we would have gotten a free play. But (unfortunately) JD did not see the Bama movement. Does not matter.

Victory for LSU...

That’s good coaching. He knew before OT started what he’d do and he was ready for it.

Our DC had no idea apparently it would be a possibility and wasn’t prepared. Even if he had been, it’s awful hard to stop a perfectly executed play.

Both the staff and the players deserve a lot of credit for performing well in a high pressure situation.

Both coaches raced to call the TO. Saban got there first. So we got our TO regardless.

Shocking how much that decision caught Bama on their heels

Yup.

Despite hitting the FG to tie it, we didn’t have a clue on either side of the ball in OT.

The Defense for us in OT was….pitiful. Good play design to attack our tendencies. Once Daniels got past the LOS it was over. That might be the easiest TD I’ve ever seen scored in an OT

Also had to have LSU feeling confident that all of the confusion took place on the exact side of the field where the play was going.
