Will it be okay since hes a pirate?

State has lost tons of talent the last few years, even JoMo didn't win 10 with the players he had his first year.

Depends. Will half our starters be sidelined most all season for cheating? Will our players be injured fighting with teammates? Will players openly argue and yell at the coach on the sidelines during televised games? Will they be dancing on the field after making a good play while trailing by three scores?

I did homework and leach is a 3rd year guy. Maybe pulling in his guys, maybe it takes several years to get what he does. Good question but yes, with him it seems to take several years.

The cupboard is pretty bare next year. After that it will improve. So next year won’t be counted against him.

I think its subjective. Records can be the same but if the team is competitive he'll get a pass. Many games this year, JoMo looked like he was in over his head and things started falling apart so a change had to be made.

You are overthinking it. While Leach is fun, he will run off all the toxic players which we have 10-12 of them. Let him do his thing and Cohen better give him 4 years. First two to run off toxic players and year 3-4 to do his thing.

He'll raid the transfer portal where needed. Got a keen eye for talent. First year will be a bit tough. Second year will show a lot of improvement. Third year...Bingo. Maybe sooner. JMHO. He doesn't play around.

First year will be a bit underwhelming

I wouldn't say that, he wont be in ATL or anything but he wasn't lying in his intro presser, He installs his offense in 3 days. After that its all reps reps reps.

If a QB on that team can fling it, they'll be ok.

It all depends on how quickly he can adapt to our roster or if he has to bring in his players.

At TT and especially at Wazzu, it did take a little time. However, at Wazzu, he walked into a roster that was outclassed by several non P5 rosters. At State, he will be walking into a roster that consists off classes that are ranked about 25th on average, so this will be the most talented roster he's ever coach.

While the players might not fit the system, they're still talented so they might adapt. It's also not going to be the adjustment that some think it will. One thing Moorhead did pretty well was recruit, and while it didn't show up in the stats he was recruiting for a pass first offense, so we actually have two years worth of offensive recruits that he might like.

a coach's shtick is more tolerable if he has a better personality. There's no way Saban would be tolerable if not for all the winning. Moorehead wasn't winning nor had a tolerable personality. Leach must win or be likeable. It's not brain science.

I was being very conservative with my assessment. It will happen relatively fast but it will be imperative for him to hire a decent staff. And he will. And he will get a good QB.

And without a doubt, he focuses on executing the play to the point where they can practically do it blindfolded.

He has close to 5 mill to do so. No reason to low ball on a DC

Records being similar, if the trajectory is looking then he’s safe. The fans will be more forgiving for a hard fought loss versus getting blown out in the first 6 minutes on national tv. In my mind, I look for him to retire here.

Then he's getting what he needs. It was a problem at WSU.

In his 10 years at Texas Tech, Leach won 8 games or more 8 times. Since he left in 2009, TT has won 8 games twice.

In his 7 years as WSU, he won 8 or more games 4 times. In the previous 7 years to his arrival, WSU never won more than 6.

I think state is in good hands
