Grade: C
He averages about 5 losses per year
We won 10 games yes but had 4 losses. 1 off his average per year
He won the west this year but we have zero hardware.
I’m praying he figures it out but history says different and he’s here for atleadt 5 years

Remember how you felt after that 2nd *win*? You felt like Auburn had accomplished something. And that Auburn was on the way up and Bama was on the way down. You don't feel that way now. Bama is the NC and is getting better.
I do not think AU thought that way. Auburn proved they could beat UA head to head and a committee couldn't take that away. But it does say a lot about going 2-3 against Bama during their greatest run in their history.

might be right that the B10E is = to SECW as Top 10 Teams,
No, clearly superior.
Top 10 adv by 2
Top 8 adv by 3
But this is all besides the point, which is the fact that Gus has faced one top 10 west team not named Bama, and they lost to Memphis.

And he has beaten Saban twice. Can any other active coach say that?

Does any other SEC Coach have one victory against Saban? Was Jimbo the FSU coach when they beat Bama in Jax?

Please. The only time you can beat Bama is with the help of the officials. If the committee had been around in 2013 they would have stripped that *win* from Barn U. as well.
As far as the 2-3 record goes, there was a time when Les Miles was 2-3 against Saban. Then Saban broke him and the LSU program.
Auburn is next...

I know your excuse you used for 2013, but refresh my memory how AU cheated this year. That was a complete arse whipping.

2-3 against Bama & LSU
Out coached by Orgeron.
I think that drops him to a C- atm.

Hopefully the trend of giving a coach a big raise then firing him continues

They're pounding their chests because their coach has a .400 winning % against another coach/team...that's simply celebrating your inferiority...pathetic.

The thread title is about grading...that implies scrutinizing the information to create some sort of overall score (i.e. grade)
Gus has done B work to this point.
He lost to a lot of good teams and beat a few good teams. He has a couple of loses that are hard to explain. He has an SEC title, a National Championship game appearance, 3 NY6 bowl games and has won the hardest division in football 2 out of 5 years.
He is 2-3 against Saban, but he lost to O.
Gus is above average which is a C, but he isn't excellent which is an A.

Not pounding our chest, just saying in a period of Bama’s greatest success in their history, Gus is one game below .500 against the reason for that success. We will wait until next season to beat our chest.

How about a lifetime ban bet on the game, SkyKing?..I'm up for it..how about you?

why would I want a lifetime ban for you ? You are a perfect example of a Bama Fan that I like to display to the rest of the sporting world.

Out coached by Orgeron.
LSU won that game due to a perfect storm of circumstances. The only 'outcoaching' that could possibly be claimed was Aranda outcoaching Lindsey.
Please point to a single decision that Orgeron made that led his team to a victory.
