North uses their left finger to pick their nose.

You think anyone is going to listen to opinions of Louisiana from a fricking Penn Rape U fan? North la probably hasn't combined for as many murders that have happened in your back yard this year. I grew up in north la, lived in more places than you've probably been to, and currently reside in baton rouge. I can tell you the people in north la are as cordial, genuine, know how to cook crawfish, and love high school football as much as any coonass. I never knew how cliquish and condescending Cajuns were until I lived down here.
People up there don't hold that same animosity for our shrimp boot wearing brethren, but if you think rural south la people are any more refined, classy or cultured than north la people, you have obviously never left your swamp shanty.
As far as football, even though this gump set this all up for that little comment he made, there are probably as many traditional powerhouses in the south as the north, and it's a cyclical trend on who is better annually.

no nutria in the backyard up north?
no crawfish in the backyard up north?
way fewer hurricane scares up north?

False
False
partially true
We have crawfish ponds in northeast la near the Mississippi
We have nutria
We have to worry about the transplants from south la fricking everything up. Ask anybody that facilitated them.

About like the difference in North and South Alabama. Night and day. They should just make a Gulf Coast State out of the coastlines of Florida, Al., Ms., La., and Tejas.

This. It doesnt really bother me but every chance south louisiana gets they try to ostracize NLa as South arkansas/not real louisiana....just look at all the reponses from south LA people in here and then they try to claim that THEY are the ones who are more welcoming? sheesh....As to the bama fan who asked this trolling question yes NLa and SLa are very different however North Louisiana is still by far LSU country....in fact Id say Shreveport and Monroe are both as a whole/per capita bigger LSU fans than New Orleans...not to say NO doesnt care about LSU but its just NO cares more about the Saints as a general rule....if yall think yall are going to set up a NLa pipeline for recruiting

I think this thread really shows some insight into how the two regions really dislike each other.
It seems like the elite college football prospects that are from north la wouldn't be very interested in playing for a group of fans in the south that hold so many stereotypes against them.

Its more of a one sided thing....Being from NLA and never encountered anyone saying anything about SLa other than wanting some food from down there. I had no animosity to SLa and moved there and got acclimated but I definitely had to take a decent amount of "redneck/no culture or food" type comments for a time.

This is not true at all because as a general rule they all grew up LSU fans. NLA, as I said in my previous post, is still overwhelmingly LSU country.

Aside from casinos (Shreveport), North Louisiana does not contribute anything of value to the state of LA. Too many Dallas Cowboy fans, no real cultural identity and too many protestant churches. We have beautiful lakes, bayous and plenty of places to hunt down here in S LA, we have LSU and the Saints. Shreveport and Monroe have Johnny's Pizza and closed minded judgemental individuals, that's about it.

Everything North of 190 is South Arkansas. All recruits are 5.7 3 stars
Natchitoches is the oldest French settlement in LA

Yes, we suck because we're not Catholic, there is absolutely know where to hunt north of Alexandria, there are no trees in north Louisiana, and we constantly try to one up every other region in the country. We should just be burned

Oh the mother fricking irony.
You talk as if it's two different states, you act like there isnt beautiful scenery, you make broad generalizations about fanhood. Who is close minded? The deer in north la make south la deer look like Dik Diks (look it up dumbass). You have shown just how uneducated and culturally lost you are.
It is a good thing retards like this guy are the anomaly, not the majority, or we might lose out on more recruits to LSU.
Eta: the only Dallas cowboys fan in la live <10 miles from the border and Mexicans

It's as simple as population density. There are far more people in south Louisiana. That is inevitably going to lead to more top level prospects.

This in exactly what Adam Banks was talking about.
+1 to Adams views.
If s. La is so great for hunting , why are so many from s. La. ,hunting north of Alexandria?
People from the south part are very condencending.

Yeah the coonasses are coming off looking like the pretentious assholes in this thread. But wait, they're soooooo welcoming and open minded.
Posted on 2/11/12 at 1:29 pm to NicoBlues
to those from other states we are welcoming
Posted on 2/11/12 at 1:36 pm to heartbreakTiger
That's silly though, heartbreak. There are alot of good things about north la, such as agriculture of cotton, corn, beans etc. I've never gotten bigger crawfish than some of the ones in the river delta in northeast la, the duck and deer hunting are second to none and people are relatively the same as those from baton rouge, only less snotty.
