A good way to stop the hurry up no huddle is to injure yourself.

It will forever and always be about talent. Are you matching talent to talent? Half of the book blindside wasn't about prepping Sandra Bullock for a movie role it was about how Lawrence Taylor revolutionized the left tackle position... not by being a left tackle himself but by being a complete mismatch. You can hurry up no huddle in the Maryland I if you want, the problem now is that the inside receiver doesn't have a traditional mismatch on the defensive front. The "nickel corner" is a weak reserve role. The linebacker is a mismatch.

A good defensive coordinator shifts the mismatch of the inside receiver even futher out to the edge. Causing chaos to the intention of the offenses intention to get a small guy to exploit that small space. In college/highschool that "small space" is intesified with the wide side of the field. It's simple. Smaller more athletic linebackers and better third corners. You're already seeing it.

The key againt the HUNH is a rested defense and a ball control offense. You need a dominant front 4 with good penetration skills. If you run a HUNH that shoots for 80 plus plays a game don't expect your time to hold an opponent under 28 points consistently. All it does is shorten your possessions and give your opponent more.

I still don't understand how with the success LSU has recently had against Oregon, Auburn, and A@M that OM has been a problem.
Does Freeze's scheme just match up better?

The coach at my old high school shut down, or at least beat, Gus Malzhan in the state championship game when Gus was at Shiloh Christian. Maybe folks ought to give him a call.
