Oh, and before you ask I'm up and about to head to Fort Bragg for a couple of days, you know, for All-American week, the memorial at 1030 hrs this morning and then Division Review tomorrow. He doesn't line the media, doesn't trust them, and who can blame him? I could go on and on about how many times he was hit with gotcha questions around that time or how many times he had to respond to some bull shite Ron Morris wrote about him ... a petty-assed grudge Morris carried over from his days up in Raleigh when Holtz was at NC State. Lou was very accommodating to the press 99% of the time. The only thing he ever asked of us was to not film or photograph him while he was smoking his pipe and to never ask him about something that laying sack of shite Ron Morris would put in the paper.

The only other time I ever saw him short with anyone was rhe day he left ... and if you'll look at pictures of him standing at the podium in the Letterman's Lounge that day I was standing right beside him ... and he was definitely pissed-off at Mike McGee that day because Mike told him Skip was not going to get the job but he woukd pull strings to help Skip get the job at ECU, which he did.

Other than that Lou enjoyed the limelight most of the time and always played to the crowd.

He saved us when he came here and we should never forget that. He was an under-sized overachiever so he gets a pass for being a little egocentric at times.

I've seen Spurrier do far worse but I'd still rather have either of them, and Jim Carlen who was a beast with the press .... than another loser like Brad Scott.

For that matter there is no bigger a-hole than Boom mUSChamp when he wants to be .... but I'm still damn glad he's our coach right now.

I think you are being incredibly unfair and dishonest about Lou.
