Who from that era didn't grow up watching Bryant? It's not like there were many channels carrying games.

Good god.

In Shula's case, he was probably the best we could get on such short notice. I'd still rather have him than Croom.

It's official.

You're fricking retarded.

26-23 (10-23 officially) is the best that 12 time national champions Alabama could do?

Including losses to NORTHERN ILLINOIS, Hawaii, and Minnesota.

Get the frick out of here.

You know we had to hire him right before the season started, right? Who would take the job at that point? He wasn't hired until May because of Mike Price.

What.
The.
frick.

He was hired in 6 days. Does that seem like a thorough coaching search?

He went 4-9 with DeMeco Ryans, Charlie Peprah, Roman Harper, Freddie Roach, and Mark Anderson on your defense.

Do you ever take of those shades and look at shite objectively?

Stop making excuses for dumbass decisions of your school. Shula had 4 MILLION dollars left on his contract when he was fired. No one with half a fricking brain cell would say he was worth a quarter of that.

Stop making excuses for Finebaum. He's an Alabama fan. He's been one since Bryant was the coach. Those are facts that have come out of his own mouth.

Doesn't matter who you have on defense if your offense is shite. I believe Brandon Avalos had to start a game at QB that year because of injuries and he couldn't complete a pass. Also, all those guys you mentioned were sophomores in 03, and i'll say it again, he didn't even have a spring to implement his system. We had a ton of injuries on offense that year. We were down to our 2nd/3rd QB, 3rd RB, and lost an OL or two. Heck, that may have been the year AC Carter got hurt as well.

We've won plenty of games lately with virtually no offense

Lee and Jefferson would have been welcomed on that 03 team. As well as your stable of RBs.
