Man, it is a nice day getting cooler, birds singing, (Oh wait that is Kenny Rodgers, sometimes you have to walk away sometimes you run, sometimes you have to squeal and sometimes just take the deal, cause when the man has the tapes you are done.....
It is really nice here, but i hear a really big storm is brewing on the horizon on the plains. (LOL)

"Cam Newton is simply collateral damage just like Auburn football."
Worng! They are all in it together, the coaches, the players, the parents, the AD, the Boosters. Why do you think Tubberville was run off. They so disliked tubberville they tried to run him off as soon as they found out he was not part of the cheating family.

Paul Davis hasn't died yet? I figured Lowder would have had him fall up some stairs years ago.

There are a lot of good Aubbie posters on here and alums. These hoods (soon to be felons) have hijacked this school and used it as their own play ground. I have never meet an Aubbie alum that likes any of them, but they have been powerless to do any thing about it.
It is family just like the mafia and Al quada. It is a criminal enterprise, that is about to come crashing down on everyone.

Could the FBI's involvement in the Newton case be incidental to another investigation. IMHO, I think the FBI got wind of the football improprieties through wiretaps of Auburn boosters involved in the bank fraud and casino cases.
We have a thinker in the group!
fwiw, rumor was floating around last night that involved people in the casino cases had auburn boosters within them that is linked to Camgate. Who in the flip knows at this point - I do believe the truth will be surfaced before the iron bowl...whether he's guilty or not!

That's probably the McGregor Tie, as he is rumored to have been the "Bag Man" with Cecil.
The really bizarre thing here that no one has pointed to yet is the fact there is a direct lint with Auburn sports and Gambling, i.e. McGregor. If in fact McGregor was the BagMan, and because any public "leaking" / confirmation of these payments to the Media/ NCAA would declare Cam ineligible, could this not be used as undue influence to say "fix" a game at some point? Or have I just gone off the deep end here with conspiracies -

There is more than one player involved. I suspect that the NCAA will focus on the easiest one to get just like USC. We all know that more players than just Bush was getting benefits but the NCAA only needs one to put a college on probation. By focusing on one player this saves a college from the death penalty, because finding it corruption widespread will force the NCAA to enforce the death penalty. JMHO

I hope they find a link to ref gate, because that will save me a lot of money. I have said in the past that if I ever won the Lotto big I would hire a firm to investigate the SEC and it's cheating ref's.

Do you think ALL the coaches are involved, or is a few renegades that are taking outside direction from boosters?

At first I thought it was Chez giving the marching orders but now I think it from the AD down.

Nowadays the head coach is usually kept in the dark about these things for purposes of "plausible deniability." It's usually a low-level assistant coach who takes the fall. In our case, it was DJ McCarthy. Randy Shannon (I can't believe they let him stick around the program) was the money man for the U under Dennis Erickson. However, Pat Dye was said to have been personally involved in his shenanigans back in the day.

FBI wire taps look to have been in place Feb 2009 until August 2010. Damn that is a long time.
The indictments have specifics all through them.
On or about March 24, 2009, SMITH, in a telephone conversation with Legislator 1,
stated that she believed that GILLEY, in fact, would honor his word and provide to Legislator 1 the hundreds ofthousands of dollars GILLEY offered Legislator 1 during the dinner on or about March 4,2009. 43. On or about March 26,2009, GILLEY, in a telephone conversation with Legislator
1, reaffirmed his willingness, and the willingness of others, to provide campaign support and contributions to Legislator 1 "until the damn cows come home" in exchange for Legislator 1's support of the "Sweet Home Alabama" bill. 44. On or about January 13,2010, after the 2009 legislative session ended without a vote
on the "Sweet Home Alabama" legislation in either chamber of the Legislature, in a telephone conversation, GILLEY renewed his efforts to influence Legislator 1's vote on pro-gambling legislation, warning Legislator 1 that, if Legislator 1 did not vote in favor oflegislation favorable to GILLEY, "we'll do everything we can to take your arse out."
Legislator 2 45. On or about March 4,2009, Legislator 2, a member ofthe Alabama Senate, attended
the same dinner at a restaurant in Montgomery, Alabama, with Legislator 1, SMITH, GILLEY, and MASSEY, among others. During the dinner, SMITH discussed with Legislator 2 the campaign support GILLEY could provide if Legislator 2 committed to favoring pro-gambling legislation. 46. During the 2009 legislative session, MASSEY contacted Legislator 2 and inquired
whether Legislator 2 had decided to support pro-gambling legislation. 47. On or about February 9, 2010, after SB380 had been introduced in the Alabama..2's legislative office, stated that MCGREGOR and GILLEY "put money into races." MASSEY attempted to mask his corrupt intent, claiming that "there's no quid pro quos." However, during the same conversation, MASSEY went on to warn Legislator 2 that, if Legislator 2 did not commit to voting in favor ofthe pro-gambling legislation supported by MCGREGOR and GILLEY, Legislator 2 "might miss an opportunity to really cut yourselfa good deal," and noted that "there's some money at play that could be had that, you know, could only be made available to certain candidates." During the visit, MASSEY also instructed Legislator 2 not to discuss these issues over the telephone. 49. On or about February 17,2010, a lobbyist employed by MCGREGOR explained to
Legislator 2 that he (the lobbyist) could use MCGREGOR's resources to help Legislator 2 move up in the leadership of Legislator 2's party without "having to really get dirty," adding, "I think you're in a position to name your price." 50. On oraboutFebruary 18,2010, Legislator 2 met with MASSEY, MCGREGOR, and
GILLEY at MASSEY's office in Montgomery, Alabama. During the meeting, MCGREGOR and 12

If this blows up and AU gets the death penalty, what would happen to the SEC? Would we try like hell to take Texas A & M into the Western Conference?

I like the idea of Texas a&m joining. It would bring some rivalary games with LSU and Arky back on a regular basis.

I think Baylor. They are 30 minutes from my ranch and home. Plus I can get season tickets cheap.
