Careful. Franklin might see this and go off on twitter like a jilted ex girlfriend again.

UT fans were also responsible for the most heartwarming scene of the night. Confined to a wheelchair for most of his life, Knoxville resident but huge Bama fan Erik Hermanson was brought to the event by Laura Mahoney and her boyfriend, Walter Deubler, both clad in orange.

"We've known each other since 1986, when we were in kindergarten together at Sacred Heart," she said of her friendship with Hermanson. "We just wanted him to get to see this."

When Saban finished his talk,...

And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. And when Saban saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

Praise God

Then how do you explain why Vandy fans overwhelmed Vol fans in Nashville this year, even before Franklin had a win against UT? A few more wins, coupled with Alabama's continued dominance over the big orange, and we will chase all University of East TN fans back across the Cumberland plateau.

I was at the game last year, and there were more UT fans than there were vandy fans. You guys did make it look a little more respectable though.

As for vandy taking over Nashville.....that may be the dumbest statement I've ever heard. I've been in Nashville since 2004 and I see vandy represented on cars about as much as I always have, which is not very much.......at all. As in, I rarely see a vandy sticker. Bandwagon bammers are a different story though.

You come off as a sad bitter old woman.

I'm happy that all 7 thousand Vandy fans decided to come and fill the bleachers up last year for the first time in history, honestly.

Hey Rocky Top, how did you like Saban's warm welcome in the heart of East Tennessee? Your fan base is in jeopardy not just in Nashville, but all over the State. And it is a fact, a fact reported by several Nashville news media, that Vandy gear is outselling UT gear in the metro area. So move over, there is going to be a new player in this town, whether your big orange blinders can accept that reality or not.

James Franklin just spoke at the Gallatin Chamber MTG in Middle TN and sold 180 tickets a third of which were Vol Fans.

Butch Jones goes anywhere in Middle TN and will sell whatever attendance the building can hold.

That's the difference between us and all 3 of you

No tradition, 500 million dollars behind in Facilities then the top players in the SEC, and Your school being located in a zip code where 90% of the fans cheer for your rival have got to make for great selling points in getting kids to come play for you

The fact you had to live vicariously through UTs real rival to even make this thread shows the relevance of Vanderbilt in TN

Maybe your so called 500 million advantage explains why the big orange is going broke. Too bad your school doesn't have a 3.5 billion dollar endowment nest egg to set on. By the way, there were an estimated 52k Vandy fans at our bowl game this year. That is a tad more than 3 fans. And Vandy stadium expansion is in the works. We have to make room for all the new, young and educated Nashville residents who have never heard of Rocky Top and would run away from it if they knew what it was.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. It's nice Vanderbilt is "upgrading" the facilities, but it doesn't matter. We have arguably the best facilities in the country, so no matter what VU does, they will still be way way behind UT. And if we were so broke, explain how in the hell we paid for our NFL type facilities?

We have a HUGE fanbase that wasn't built overnight. That takes decades of winning to do, not a couple of 8 win seasons or whatever you think.

When Tennessee takes a big orange shite all over Vandy this fall and reminds you of your place in the grand scheme of things, I hope you finally admit that Vanderbilt is and always will be Tennessee's personal bitch.

I'm not worked up. I've read enough of this "our state" bullshite for one lifetime. It blows my mind that I'm evening having this conversation with Vandy fans but that's what Derek Dooley will do for ya.

Honestly, I never thought I'd live to see the day Vandy, loaded with real live ammo, could jerk UT fans around.
I would have bet on watching the Pope in jeans doing the 2-step at a Texas road house first.

I like your description but it's only natural that a school responsible for 'educating' Clay Travis excels at being obnoxious trolls. The ammo they're firing is as usual just a bunch of blanks.

They cant compete with Bama anymore so they have to pick on little brother. When little brother beats their arse then they have to start picking on middle tennessee state. When MTSU beats your arse then they pick on ETSU and that's when phillip fulmer gets his revenge.

You sound like the subject matter expert, I guess when you get blasted by the community colleges like Western Kentucky for long enough that happens though

Nice try. UT sent back 3000 tickets to the Vandy ticket office that they couldn't sell and Vandy fans scooped them right up. It was easily 80/20 Vandy fans and 95/5 by the end of the 3rd quarter.

WKU is a D-1 university and their coach just got hired away by USF. Don't worry though, you get to play them yourself this year. We will see how bitch jones does against Bobby Petrino w/ less talent. Prepare your anus.

This is good shite. I have enjoyed this thread immensely. I said franklins first year that this was going to happen and all the vols laughed at me so hard. This passing of the torch has just warmed the cockles of my heart. Now we just need Memphis to get a little better and y'all will know how Auburn feels in our state.

I've been to WKU's campus and I can easily count 3 community colleges within 30 minutes of where I'm sitting that have bigger campus's than them.
