It's a heavy book to get through, mostly because Dickey's writing style is so poetic in nature. I mean, dude was chosen as Poet Laureate in 1966

I usually like a writer like that. Charles Portis, an Arkansas native comes to mind (True Grit, Gringos, etc.), but not in the sense of being "poetic" as much as being a master of linguistics in regard to specific cultural dialects. Maybe it's the same...

All I can say is that Arkansas/Mizzou rivalry is going to be a GOOD one. Glad I only live a lil over an hour from F'Ville so I can be in the thick of it

I've suggested to Hater that he post here, but I don't believe he's done so yet. He is definitely among the best I've ever seen. And it does it in such a nastily lyrical, poetic way.
And Hater's right - all but the most delusional of us have no expectations of winning the SEC this year - but we're getting tired of people acting like we've never seen a football before! If we get killed in a game or two, so be it - it's happened before. So, we're not scared. That's not disrespecting the SEC at all - but we're just so damn happy to be here, and we're not scared of competing.
As Hater has said, he took his old blog down after Nebraska just became irrelevant. But, in honor of the move to the SEC, he's started a new one - Bubble Screens & Collard Greens. Y'all should check it out....
