OP was about the Awful Waffle where grits can be a real roll of the dice at locations across the south. Most of the times the grits at said establishment are watery, lumpy, undercooked, overcooked, precooked, too dry, or a host of other incorrect ways to cook and serve grits.

Louisiana has waffle house. I'm not sure about Baton Rouge, but there's one in Avondale and on Elysian Fields in Gentilly.
