That's like saying you live in Houston with your family and have a great job there, but an equally great job in Detroit will pay you the same salary to work there. You can't move the family but you could live in an apartment in Detroit and fly home every weekend.
Sure you have options, but when you start demanding things from your current boss and threaten to leave, he knows you don't want to actually take the new job.

Every single charter member knew. That’s how this works. Only A&M seems to think they’re entitled to something when a decade ago they came crying and begging to us for shelter.

To engage in discussions without asking every school for permission to do so? Absolutely. That’s why there’s a vote afterwards on anything that actually comes to fruition. Does your boss ask for your permission on everyone they interview?

It’s not an argument. I’m stating that the SEC doesn’t have to ask A&M permission to do anything. In the same way when you were a manager that you didn’t have to ask permission to give a prospective candidate a call.

The most little brother aTm thing ever would be for them to join the Pac 12, ACC or Big Ten just to prove a point that Texas can't tell them what to do, and then be completely miserable and isolated, but think they somehow won.

No trolling. A&M was left out of the discussions and found out when rumors leaked. They’re pissed and in typical A&M fashion, way over value themselves and are making threats.
