When Arkansas was looking at him, and when Moo State hired him, I said that the biggest problem with Leach is that he is going to put up some bowling shoe ugly losses. Beatdown by an FCS level team bad losses. Now, if you can put up with that he will win some games at your school.
The question is whether any SEC fan base can tolerate those bad losses.
It is partly the curse of the specialty offense. A few years ago Army finished the season ranked and nearly beat Oklahoma in the Sooner's own stadium. They also got blown out by Duke that year.

just how many players have been sent packing at Ole Miss and Arkansas?
Lets see who’s left State, A locker room known cancer in Hill. 2 running QBs who last year hit 57% of their passes (one had 82 yards passing vs Bama last year in that blowout) and another RB who was beat out by 2 freshmen, hasn’t had a carry all season.
Among the others, name one who was a big contributor last year.

why do players on both those teams look like they have been in the system forever?
Pretty easy to tell, neither of those teams went as night n day as State did from their prior HC.

Ppl are acting like State was good last year, they had 3 SEC wins. Looks a lot different this year with no cupcakes to pad those Ws
From an article last year before the season started.
A lack of passing accuracy from Mississippi State’s quarterbacks isn’t the only reason why the Bulldogs’ passing attack has struggled in recent seasons. Even dating back to the end of the Dan Mullen era in 2017, the Bulldogs struggled to have consistent receivers on the field. Dropped passes and miscommunications have plagued MSU over the past couple of seasons,
Last year OL
LT: Tyre Phillips, senior | Charles Cross, freshman
LG: Dareuan Parker, junior | Michael Story, senior
C: Darryl Williams, senior | James Jackson, sophomore
RG: Stewart Reese, junior | LaQuinston Sharp, junior
RT: Greg Eiland, junior | Tommy Champion, senior
Starters vs Bama Left to right,
LT Cross, FR
LG Sharp, SR
C Smith, SO
RG Parker SR
RT Kameron Jones SO
Young OL, gonna take time to jell

The SEC is a LOS league with some seriously talented athletes on the defensive side. Leach believes he can master a passing game that substitutes for running the ball in the SEC.
The Ole Miss plan is to make you defend the entire field by air and overland. Early returns would strongly suggest that Lane Kiffin has the better mousetrap going forward. And with his ability to RECRUIT will have a team that will soon resemble Hugh Freeze's bunch in short fashion.

State returned 1 starter from last season. Why is this so hard for you?

And with his ability to RECRUIT
Kiffin currently has 1 4 star WR committed.
Leach has a 4 star QB and 2 4 star WRs committed

We are Croom era level bad, can Leach recover?
How bad does that make LSU? Can Ogreon recover? Asking for a friend.

Gonna need a preternaturally accurate QB to make that work.

The next few years will be like Wazzu playing Washington every week (minus cupcakes) for Leach unless he lucks into another DC as arrogant and clueless as Pelini
