bump for Vols win

SEC now has 3 of the Elite Eight slots and should have gotten 4 except LSU seems to have been robbed.

Back to irrelevance for Mulkey and Baylor.

(or as Gary Blair said..."back to being Baylor again")

I sure wish that my Tide could field a good team. I don't watch much lady ball but it would be nice to see them up there.

And well deserved given all her whining and bitching about the refs in the post game presser...

It is not the play of Uconn vs UK but how the refs call the game , especially if last years game is the blueprint.

It was 39 - 41 at halftime and the fouls called on each team was more balanced. UK had Uconn winded in the first half the way they had Bone and others winded this season. Then came the dreadful calls in the second half and Uconn winning because of the breaks and gimmies at the foul line. Very similar to the UofL vs Baylor game last night. U of L was ripping Baylor a new one but many questionable fouls (including the one on Waltz and the obvious one not called on Kim) See .gif below :

I was around when Burnadette had Uconn beat on their home floor and the refs swallowing their whistles in the second half. Here is a partial box score in case you missed it.

Nov. 24, 1999 @ Uconn
Halftime : UK 35 Uconn 31
Final : UK 62 Uconn 68

UK had 23 fouls (and McDole fouled out) while Uconn was only called 13 times. Like the U of L Baylor game last night, UK opened with a 12 - 2 lead before Geno started working on the refs. Tiffany Wait went on to the pros but she and Erica Jackson had Uconn's number that day just like U of L had Baylor last night. Sadly, UK was denied that win not by the play but by the refs. Until UK can meet Uconn on a neutral floor I fell they will continue this uphill battle.

Here is last years charity stripe numbers from the UK vs Uconn game

UK : Free Throw % 1st Half: 14-14 100 % 2nd Half: 7-8 87.5% Game: 95.5%
Uconn : Free Throw % 1st Half: 11-13 84.6% 2nd Half: 19-22 86.4%

Notice the huge differential in the second half as the real key to Uconn's win than their actual play on the court.

If UK gets 1 - 2 fouls in the first 2 min of tonights game you will know we are looking at a repeat of last year from the officials.
