What is up with the huge number of HCs and assistants being fired or let go for this cycle?

There have been other years with a lot of coaching changes. Read an article some weeks ago about how one coach firing had a ripple effect leading to 200 job changes throughout college football.

I think what is remarkable about this season is the carousel started turning after a scant three weeks involving high profile jobs and it was due to results this year not anyone's cumulative record that led to them being fired. Kelly and Franklin flamed out, then Freeze and Napier with Kiffin being tied to every major school opening. This one was crazy all season long.
