I saw a lot of weakness too. I thought Bama made it pretty apparent when they whipped their arse 38-14. Maybe I am just missing the subtleties.
You better worry about Furman.

The mighty Gaytors.

Poor picture quality.
What I gather from Hog fans this week is that you don't want to actually talk about the game, you want to play show and tell with old pictures.
I may have phrased my OP in a troll way, but I just wanted to strike up an actual convo about the game. Panties immediately wadded up. Sorry.

LSU is number 1 and deserves to be there. It is almost as physically dominating as Bama. And that is saying something.
The only issue is whether Wilson can have a little time to throw and if the defense can slow the run and contain. Not their strong suit; however, they have played against running QBs for the last few games.
If you have watched many games, Wilson is actually pretty good when improvising. In fact, more scary than in the pocket.
Special teams will struggle more against the very physical LSU STs. True.
The game will be decided, IMHO, by the ability of LSU to complete passes in play action versus Wilson's ability to complete 60% or more of his passes. That is where the game will be decided.

I watched most of the OM, Vandy, and MSUthe games live. Just watched the S. Carolina game last night.
I may have used the wrong term, when I said "improvise". The plays I was referring to were more like Wilson will float some balls, or just try to force it when he should just eat the ball and live for another play.
Against USCe, you got a TD on a kick off return that looked like really poor coverage, not so much great blocking, IMO.
The Tennessee PR by Adams was great, but if we're honest, UT looked pathetic in breaking down to tackle.
About the JJ> 100 yds statement, I watched Shaw get many key yards running the ball off of the zone read. I just think that in the same situations, JJ makes you pay worse than Shaw did.

Ok, this is like talking to a 12 year old.
Johnson wasn't even touched, USCe didn't stay in lanes , and it looked like most of their kickoff coverage team were each expecting the "other guy" to make the tackle. It was poor coverage.

We make good defenses/special teams look bad.
You guys are totally deserving of the #1 ranking though.
Until Friday.

Actually, re-watch the kick off return. Watch Ross Rasner (#35) come all the way across the field to take out the gunner. He knocks him into the stands along with another player. This cleared the lane. This is why the opening was 'so open'. It is how the play was designed.
Seriously, watch closely for it. Then let me know if it was a good called ST play or 'luck.'
If you need more detailed analysis of this play, you can reference the coach's show where the play was shown with better camera angles.

Thanks, but I watched it. There are more than one "gunners" to make a tackle on a KR, so if one gets blocked others should be there to tackle. Anyway, i'm not going to watch Petrinos coachs show to get honesty about the play. Like he is going to breakdown where Spurriers STs screwed up. C'mon... those shows aren't anything more than little televised pep rallies.
I didn't call it luck, just called the poor coverage by USCe. IMO, ST TDs are just not something you can count on against LSU like you did against UT and USCe.

Petrino's show is actually refreshingly different from other coaches' shows I've seen in that he actually does break down several plays and does tell where players screw up.
Turning to the game, I think it is LSU's year, but we stand better than a puncher's chance. One point separates Ark & LSU's total combined scores from our last four years. We've gotten some key players back from injuries, our OL has had time to gel and has gotten better at giving Wilson a little time (against respectable DL like Ingram, Cox, Clowney), and we're starting to find a running game with Dennis Johnson. Even our much maligned D is gaining some traction now that we have our Sr DE's back from injuries. We held State to 211 total yards (LSU held them to 361 yds) and held Ballard to 54 yards rushing (LSU held him to 38).
I expect LSU to win, but it won't be a cake walk, and it wouldn't be a huge upset if No. 3 beats No. 1 (a team they've beaten 3 out of the last 4 years). It should also be a more fun game to watch than LSU v. Bama because this match-up is strength on strength instead of strength on weakness.

Very nice analysis... this is what I wanted to get to. No nonsense, honesty. Yes, I would say this if your predicted winner was different.
I particularly agree with the last statement about strength on strength, which should make it a blast of a game to watch.
I think that if Arkansas shuts down the zone read option and forces enough 3rd and longs, it will be a whole lot like last year. Drawing from what I've seen from the UA D, I don't expect that to happen.
Unlike the last several years, our defense doesn't seem to be wearing down as much down the last leg of the season. We are fresher on that side of the ball than we have been the last few years this late in the season.
I don't expect as many physical and mental breakdowns from our D this year. I am worried that Arkansas has another weapon that might convert some key first downs... the TE position. Gonna have to keep an eye on him in big situations.
